The space gas furnace tipped over and burned a hole in the carpet

When I was a little kid, I remember my parents had a space gas furnace in the middle of the residing room.

The space gas furnace regularly made the room entirely hot and cozy, but during the Winter time months, the space gas furnace ran all of the time.

It’s used kerosene and my parents bought it from a gas station close to our home; Lots of people back then had kerosene furnaces in their home. My friends and I were hanging out at the apartment a single night. Both of us were hanging out in the residing room enjoying television. Both of us decided to play a game of Twister. My foot got tangled with another and I fell backwards into the space heater. It tipped over onto the ground and the carpet immediately caught on fire. I yelled to my parents. They were resting in the family room playing a board game. My mom came rushing into the residing room. My Mom threw a towel over the fire and started stomping on the hot, molten, carpet. After that, my parents never put the space gas furnace back in the residing room. I entirely think the gas furnace was resting in the trash the next day. I do not ever remember seeing another space gas furnace in the residing room. In fact, a couple of years later my parents finally opted for Central Electric Heating. It’s been 25 years since that accident occurred and my parents still refused to put a space gas furnace in the house. They clearly have some PTSD issues from the time the carpet was burnt all those years ago.
