My first car was a 1994 used Honda Civic in charcoal gray.
I loved that car, and I had only one incident with it.
While driving on an icy road, I made the mistake of hitting the brakes too hard as I was going around a corner. I slid off the road into a small ditch, but I wasn’t injured and thankfully, nobody else was on that road that morning. I was able to drive out of the ditch with no issues. Anyway, I had the car for about 5 years before I had any issues with it. But once it began showing signs of decline, I knew I eventually had to sell it or trade it in. It had over 150,000 miles on it, and it was over 10 years old. After I had some issues with the timing belt, I knew it was time to let it go, which I did. Currently, I think the same thing is happening to my HVAC unit, it’s an old unit and it is showing signs of decline. For instance, I noticed that the air flow is not as strong as it was before, and it takes a long time to cool down my home. The unit is almost 20 years old, and that is around the expiration date that is set by the industry for HVAC equipment. Typically, HVAC units last between 15 and 20 years depending on maintenance. But before I jump to any solid conclusion, I scheduled an appointment with my HVAC technician to see if this issue could be caused by something else. If not, I might need to just accept that I need a new HVAC system.
