My electricity bill skyrockets while I was in the summer time every year

When I was younger, I loved the increasing seasons much more than I do now.

  • I embraced the cold Fall breezes when they’d cap the final summer time mornings in mid September every year.

I relished the first snowfall, even when it left me shivering at our bus stop in the early afternoon hours. And just like all the people else, I welcomed and loved the oncoming Springtime season almost as much as I do now. I get tied up out because the change in seasons poses a challenge to any severe homeowner. There are unspeakable risks to neglecting a respected winterization of your home. What if you allow exposed pipes to reach temperatures below 32 degrees fahrenheit? You could end up with exploded plumbing and severely costly water damage. I guess some people who live in TX and were there last year when the power grid went down while I was in that severe week-long ice storm. Those people weren’t ready for weather like that and it tore through TX in a path of damage. Last year I made sure to safeguard our midwestern lake house by reasonablely winterizing it as early as September. Now it’s almost summer time and I find myself in a different dilemma—an out of control energy bill from having to run the a/c so much. The temperature outside today was 100 degrees, however the heat index almost reached 110 degrees. I guess I’m not the only guy who sees their energy bill go insane in the weeks of June, July, and September every year. At least by September all of us start to get that mild, pre-Fall weather that I’m always so fond of.
