My best friend in school was Tom.
We grew up in the same area and always said one day we would travel the world.
Our home area wasn’t the poshest, so we never got to go to the best vacations. On TV, we saw kids travel abroad for vacations, but the best we could do was attend the county fairs. After high school, we skipped going to university and went to HVAC school. Our goal was to get certified as HVAC experts and work in the HVAC industry. A HVAC business owner had come to school at one time and told us all about the industry. We knew we didn’t want to have the burden of student loans, so HVAC school was a better option. During HVAC training, a recruiter came to campus and told us there was a chance to work on a cruise ship. This was like a literal answer to our prayer of traveling the world. He had positions for 10 HVAC technicians and we were first in line to apply. We graduated and left for work 2 weeks later on one of the biggest cruise ships in the world. Now, we travel from city to city and have been to the most amazing places. Working as HVAC workers for the cruise ship isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. The ship is huge and requires lots of heating and cooling to keep the guests happy. During our free time, my best friend and I go sightseeing and have seen the most fabulous places.
