In recent times, things have been especially tight for us just trying to get by.
- We realized a little while back that we had to lower our expenditure or we were going to be in trouble.
We carefully analyzed our budget and tried to cut back on many things. We eliminated different foods from the budget like high quality strip steaks. We used to love eating those, but we had to just go for round steaks or cube steaks to keep ourselves from spending too much at the grocery store. We also quit eating regular bacon and switched to turkey bacon and didn’t always buy the name brand foods. You’d be surprised at how much we saved just by cutting back on different foods, but we also needed to save elsewhere. I was talking with my wife about possibly cutting the HVAC maintenance out and I could maintain the HVAC on my own. My wife said it was a bad idea because the warranty would be void and I could risk causing serious damage to the HVAC or myself. She was right and so I called the HVAC company to see if there was any way we could save money on our HVAC maintenance. They noted that we were not on an HVAC service plan and they told us we would save big by enrolling into one. They were right, getting into a contract allowed us to have more services for much less in price! I don’t know why I didn’t know about HVAC service plans before, but we’re glad we looked into a way to save more cash. I’m just hoping that we don’t have to cut our budget even further, but we’re worried about the rising gas prices and food prices going up a lot.
