After a few years of experience under our belt I was no longer intimidated by the complexity of gas furnaces and cooling units.
The inside of an HVAC component is actually complicated! Everybody enjoys their window cooling systems and central cooling systems, but a few people know how their scarce HVAC units particularly work. When I was a child I constantly wanted to be a cooling specialist or heating business… My great Grandfather and Grandfather were both in the HVAC business and our dad was a local service provider, however after enjoying our Grandfather and dad labor in the HVAC business our whole life I decided that’s what I wanted to do! I went to university eager to learn all about gas furnaces and cooling systems, and I was confident I would finally do well. On our first day of class I was shown the inside of the hybrid HVAC unit. I was overwhelmed by the complexity of this HVAC component and almost quit on day 1, however the next day I was shown the inside of a window cooling system. I had our actual own Window cooling system in our room all through our childhood, however I never realized just how complicated they were. After more than three years of school I finally learned the basics of HVAC units and joined our dad in the cooling and heating industry. After a few years of experience under our belt I was no longer intimidated by the complexity of gas furnaces and cooling units. I was able to confidently repair media media air cleaners, and ductless heat pumps without help. I was even able to help others understand the heating and cooling equipment that so many are intimidated by because of its complexity. If you are considering being an HVAC business, make sure you listen closely so you can understand later on in life.
