I think that I was born hardwired to labor with my hands.
But there are genuinely times when I think that I’m simply a product of a particular environment and generation.
It felt as if there was always an implied promise that if I do the right thing, the right thing will happen. So I spent a lot of time inside the commercial Heating and Air Conditioning industry trying to do the right thing. I honestly have zero regrets when it comes to our ethics or our efforts. Yet I ended up with a heart attack in our mid 50s. It only got worse as a divorce soon followed. It kind of felt adore the universe was piling on. However, just resting in the air conditioning of our rented apartment, I am coming to realize it just does not matter. I did the best I could and attempted to stay cheerful. When I got back on our feet, I mended our heart a bit by taking a sabbatical. All through the Winter I spent in our chalet in the woods by myself with the new prefer of our life. And that would be Rex, the new animal I got once our marriage was over and I was out on our own. But that Winter away was so interesting. It was very good heating with a wood stove. But I was also fortunate to have a ductless heating pump when I would let the fire die out. It was great to spend time alone with Rex and not be afraid to just sit in our feelings. I prefer that chalet and I’m glad that it was such a wholesome sanctuary for me last winter.
