After the pandemic devastated my career, I decided to change careers.
- I know I am a salesperson that can sell ice to an Eskimo.
I researched jobs that fit my skill and found one that would suit me, a realtor. I had to study to get the license, and when I finally got it, my friends took me out to celebrate. I learned a lot about how to sell houses, but I found out that homes sell faster if they have a sound air conditioning system. My first customer was an ex-marine, a charming man and a friendly wife. They were looking to relocate to another state and wanted to sell their house. They had already found a beautiful home they were moving to, and he’d requested the a/c reps from the local air conditioning business to do the air conditioning installation at the new house. I asked for contacts of the same air conditioning experts he used as I needed a clean health bill for the current house’s cooling product. Before listing the home, the customer and I decided to finish up with the assessment of the heat pump. It was summer when I sold my first house, and we needed potential customers to view the place to experience indoor comfort. As the professionals know more about air conditioning and how to work the cooling technology, they started with a comprehensive air conditioner tune-up that included several air conditioning filters. To improve indoor air quality, they changed the air conditioning filters. When the cooling specialist left the residence, the customer confirmed that the cooling equipment was quieter and more efficient. After listing the house the following day, I received an offer later that evening. A good HVAC unit is a tip I share with my customer every time.
