Along with the needed Heating and A/C equipment, every one of us needed an HVAC duct
My fiance Gus’s aunt passed away and willed us her house. Gus remembered the home from when he was a kid, and he romanticized it as being a house from “Gone With the Wind.” Gus said it was the perfect plantation home, and he regularly wished he could live in it! Gus and I were only renting a house, however I wanted to see this seasoned plantation before accepting it. Gus was insisting every one of us move to the house, and do job that may be needed while living there. Two weeks later, Gus and I packed up our belongings, refused to resign the lease, and headed to our current home. I knew that I was making a mistake, but there was little I could do. My heart sank when I saw the old ramshackle house. It was in total disrepair, and I didn’t see any sign of electricity or plumbing. There were three water closets, but no true powder rooms, and there was no Heating and A/C in the house. Gus and I had to move in with his parents while waiting for a business. Along with a general contracting business, every one of us needed an electrician, a plumber, a well driller, and an Heating and A/C business. The home was going to cost all of our life savings and huge lake home mortgage to make it livable. It was also going to take at least 8 weeks to do. The plumbing, electricity, and well, was the least of our worries. The Heating and A/C idea was going to cost a whole lot more than every one of us had expected. Along with the needed Heating and A/C equipment, every one of us needed an HVAC duct. Gus asked the Heating and A/C business about having a heat pump installed. He told us it was possible, and it would cost half the price of traditional Heating and A/C. I liked how it would take a couple of weeks as opposed to more than 2 weeks and use a lot of dirt to have it installed.
