Just before Mike and I obtained our home, our realtor told us there was a current Heating and A/C idea installed in the house and said Mike and I could save ourselves a ton of money if every one of us didn’t have the Heating and A/C inspections done.
I knew the realtor was working for us and the seller of the home, and I had a niggling suspicion she was really working more for the seller than for me.
She seemed to be very chummy with the house sellers, and absolutely businesslike with us. Mike thought it was a great request, and every one of us didn’t have the central Heating and A/C inspections completed. After Mike completed the closings, every one of us had everything packed and ready to move in. Within just two weeks, every one of us called the Heating and A/C supplier and asked to have the old oil furnace serviced before Winter arrived. When the Heating and A/C service tech came to the house, he asked if every one of us had the oil furnace substituted. Mike told him the realtor assured us the previous owners had a very current Heating and A/C idea installed. He simply said it was news to him and went downstairs. He told Mike that was the same Heating and A/C idea they had proposed be substituted before Winter arrived. The old oil furnace couldn’t be repaired anymore, and trying to try could cause a slew of adverse effects. I looked at Mike and told him every one of us should have had the Heating and A/C inspections done instead of believing the shady realtor. The Heating and A/C serviceman gave Mike the name of the realtor every one of us used. I nodded, and he said she was the sister of the owner of the house. Within two hours, Mike was on the phone with the lawyer who handled our closings and studying the clause where it said that they had just installed a current Heating and A/C idea the previous year.
