I was attending a special service at our local church last week! They were honoring all the fallen soldiers of the past wars and present. My father had been killed in the Gulf War, and my sibling recently died in a training accident; After the the service, she was talking to all the people when I saw him walk up to the dais; She asked if there was an Heating, Ventilation & A/C specialist in the house? This was quite a change from the subject we were discussing, however it must have been important. The minister said they were having a problem with the heating in the prayer chapel. If anyone could help with the problem, she would be quite grateful. I wasn’t an Heating, Ventilation & A/C specialist, however I knew several gentlemen who were. I was about to offer their help when one of the newer parishioners stepped forward. She said she was a Navy vet, and she was an Heating, Ventilation & A/C specialist. She would be proud to do the Heating, Ventilation & A/C task in the prayer chapel. Two other Heating, Ventilation & A/C specialists offered to help. I couldn’t suppose the generosity of the multiple gentlemen who were donating their time to help the church. When they came out of the area, I heard them tell the minister that there was no fixing to be done. They needed a new gas furnace for that area of the church. The first man to offer her help told the minister that if she would pay for the equipment, she would make sure all of the work was done for free, and she would lead the team. I hope that one morning I can be as gracious as these men.
