Having several kids on a miniscule budget feels like a juggling act and walking a tightrope all at the same time; Everything needs to be balanced; Just when I thought I had the hang of it, those little kids started turning into surly teenagers… The kids were larger, they needed more space, and most of all they needed privacy. There was not much I could supply them in that regard, because extra rooms don’t grow on trees, so instead I decided to convert the one-car garage into a spare dining room for our oldest son. The garage would need a lot of cosmetic work, but it would also need a new air conditioner and an updated electrical panel. It would be self-explanatory enough to simply install a portable heating and air conditioner component in the garage, but that doesn’t completely solve the concern of air quality. It is a garage with brick floors and plain walls, used just for storage, and the air quality out there is musty, dusty, and damp, however controlling the excess humidity, and restoring the air quality to something more habitable is the first issue! After a deep, thorough cleaning and a slight remodel, I hope that portable Heating & Air Conditioning components will be enough to maintain the garage going ahead.
