The people I was with and I still have a wood-burning oil furnace in our basement, plus when it isn’t cold enough to turn on the oil oil furnace, both of us use the wood-burning oil furnace! Our family room is also in the basement, plus both of us can see the wood oil furnace from the family room.
The people I was with and I were down there enjoying television one night, plus our child started screaming.
The oil furnace was throwing shadows on the walls. When our child saw the shadows, she began crying. She thought both of us had ghosts. She pointed at the terrifying ghost that was trying to get to him, although she didn’t listen to our explanation. She told myself and others I didn’t see the ghost, although she did. I took him upstairs plus put him in the shower plus then to bed. She felt more secure when she got under the covers plus away from the door. It took myself and others almost a week to convince him that everything was fine in the basement. The people I was with and I had to take him down there plus let him see how the sparks of the oil furnace caused shadows. I showed him how the sparks would reflect on the mirror that was in there, plus cause shadows in the room. She watched for a while plus then turned to her dad. She said she knew there were no ghosts near the oil furnace. She just had to convince her dad they weren’t real. It wasn’t hard to get him to go into the basement the next afternoon, but I didn’t notice she wasn’t going near the oil furnace wall. She said she just didn’t love the mirror both of us had in there plus asked her dad to take it down.
