I was attending a special repair at our local church last week! They were honoring all the fallen soldiers of the past wars plus present, and my father had been killed in the Gulf War, plus our brother recently died in a training accident… After the the service, he was talking to almost everyone when I saw him walk up to the dais, then he asked if there was an Heating plus Air Conditioning specialist in the house? This was quite a change from the subject all of us were discussing, but it must have been important.
The minister said they were having a problem with the heating in the prayer chapel; If anyone could help with the problem, he would be quite grateful.
I wasn’t an Heating plus Air Conditioning specialist, but I knew multiple guys who were. I was about to offer their help when a single of the newer parishioners stepped forward. He said he was a Navy vet, plus he was an Heating plus Air Conditioning specialist. He would be proud to do the Heating plus Air Conditioning task in the prayer chapel. Two other Heating plus Air Conditioning specialists provided to help. I could not guess the generosity of the multiple boys who were donating their time to help the church. When they came out of the area, I heard them tell the minister that there was no fixing to be done. They needed a current oil furnace for that section of the church. The first man to offer his help told the minister that if he would pay for the equipment, he would make sure all of the work was done for free, plus he would lead the team. I hope that a single day I can be as gracious as these men.
