Once again, the temperature decided to drop below 50 degrees. This Winter has proven to be one of the most unpredictable when it comes to the weather. Earlier this week, it was almost 80 degrees outside, and I considered turning on my air conditioner. I opted for a fan instead which has been fine because it is not hot inside my house. Well now that the temperature has dropped by almost 30 degrees, it would make sense to use my central heating. However, I have decided to use a space heater because in a couple of days, the temperature will be back in the high 70s again. This fluctuation in temperature makes it difficult to determine how to use my heating and cooling unit. One day I could be using my air conditioning and then the next day, I would need to switch to the central heating. Switching back and forth between heating and cooling could cause extra wear and tear on my HVAC unit, so this is why I decided to use my space heater when the temperature dropped outside. The good thing about the space heater is that it’s portable, so I can use it in any room in my home. While space heaters are designed to be used in small spaces and it will never replace the central heating in my home, it is keeping me extra comfortable during this change in temperature. Eventually, I will use my central heating but only when the weather is cold outside for more than two day. And with the temperature being so unpredictable this year, who knows when that will happen.
