The main reasons HVAC technicians get service calls

When our HVAC units break down, most homeowners panic because we have no idea if the malfunction is going to cause hundreds of dollars in repairs.

And of course, we are never prepared when the HVAC unit breaks down and it always happens at the worst times.

The last time my HVAC unit broke down, I had my family in town and the issue was that the drain pipe was clogged. So, we got a dry vacuum to remove the clog that was built up inside the pipe. When the clog happened, I contacted my HVAC technician and he was able to walk us through identifying the issue as well as providing the solution. In addition to talking to my HVAC technician, we watched a few YouTube videos and we read a few articles online. I was surprised to discover that a clogged drain pipe was one of the most popular reasons that many HVAC units break down. Another reason for malt functions included clogged filters and dirty coils as well as a bad capacitor. And the good news is, most of these malfunctions can be easily fixed by the homeowner. Though these items can be fixed by the homeowner, it is always best to schedule regular maintenance to identify other issues that are not always so obvious. Thankfully, when my HVAC unit broke down, it only took less than an hour to get the unit up and running. And although the unit seemed ok, I ended up scheduling a service with my HVAC technician at the end of that week, just to be safe.
