This will be my first full Summer down here.
And after just experiencing half of August and all of September, I’m a little scared.
August produced the sort of heat that I had never experienced in my life. It was brutal and I leaned hard on the air conditioning in my new place. I’m still renting as this move isn’t permanent just yet. I work inside the zone controlled HVAC of the company’s southern office. This was a temporary position but it looks like it could become permanent. I know for sure that I’ll be here through the Summer months so I looked to the HVAC company for help. The HVAC equipment in my home is a bit old but does a decent enough job cooling I suppose. But last year, I went deep with the thermostat setting to offset the shock of this kind of heat and humidity. And it cost me a bundle over those 6 or 7 weeks. So I wanted to be sure that I did everything that I could to lower my cooling costs this Summer. Since the rental company wouldn’t do it, I had the HVAC professional come out to do the air conditioning tune up on the heat pump. And that’s when the HVAC technician alerted me to the fact that all I needed to know to cut the cooling costs was on the HVAC company website. Indeed, it was a one stop shop as I am now well versed in all the things that I can do to enjoy air conditioning without going broke.
