We frequently included radiant floors in the list of things we would like in our ideal home.
We were dating at the time, but there was one heating-related point we could all agree on.
Purchasing the hydronic boiler from the heating company and hiring a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning repairman to install it seemed straightforward. Simple. or so we believed. We visited a heating dealership to familiarize ourselves with the model of heater we wanted and learned how it operated. However, since we wanted the hydronic primarily for floor warming, the heat and AC product expert insisted that we consider a heat pump or hybrid heating as a backup. Because my husband was not interested in a heater and I had a bad experience with boiler repair, the chances seemed better than a boiler. The cost of the heater/heater replacement increased for us when we took the backup options into account. We therefore had to inquire if there was any way to reduce the cost of the replacement from the expert in HVAC service and replacement. Because of this, some areas of the apartment have a hydronic heating system that warms the floors, and the remaining areas have wall radiators. Although we haven’t had any issues with heating service up to this point, the allure of it has begun to fade, and I can’t wait to switch out the system once this one starts to cause us repair issues. Right now, the only benefit is that my teenagers are always warm, so I don’t have to worry about them getting cold while playing on the floor. They will be grown and easier to keep warm by the time we plan to make the change.
