Bob and Rina always feel bad that a pandemic had to happen.
There are so many folks who aren’t here and might be otherwise had this global health crisis not been an issue. But that’s just the reality of life. Even if you weren’t personally affected by the Covid infection, it wasn’t easy at all. Bob and Rina know that initially, they thought that working from their beach house would be chaotic. They were one hundred percent wrong about that. To be honest, the first month or so of working inside the central cooling of their beach house wasn’t easy. Bob and Rina couldn’t seem to find the correct rhythm, the best work space or get the hang of the online meetings. But the more they pushed through to the Summer, the better they were at working outside of the commercial cooling of the office. That initial Summer of the pandemic was the first time they learned that they had to move their schedules around the amount of A/C they were getting. Of course, both Bob and Rina had to take pay cuts to keep their jobs. So limiting the A/C costs was essential. That’s what they did by keeping the thermostat around 68 degrees during the peak heating hours of the day. This week, they are going into another summer working remotely and they don’t believe they’ll ever go back to the office. Bob and Rina go to crucial meetings but that’s it. So now, they must change their schedule so they can avoid the office when it’s so hot in their beach house. Rina and Bob get up well before dawn and work until lunch. Then, they get out of the beach house during the worst of the heat to do errands.
