Ever since I can recall, my father Bob has been a landscaper, however regardless of the season, Bob would be outside working.
Bob spent the Summer tending to the grass, plus creating lovely yard art out of hedges plus big lawn.
I loved going with him to see the beautiful statues Bob created with nothing but hedge trimmers plus clippers. He was a true artist. When we got home, Bob would disappear into the garage. I thought Bob was cleaning his unit or sharpening them, but mom said he was escaping the air conditioning. Because Bob worked outside all Summer long, the air conditioning was too chilly for him. Bob had heat in the truck when he was plowing snow in the winter, plus he would freeze to death if we didn’t have a furnace. The warmer the better with the furnace. I never thought about how it might affect me if I had to work outside full time, and now that I am older plus have a home, I often call Bob. My Mom passed away, plus I know he often forgets to turn on the air conditioning unit. Bob is no longer working full-time, even though he still putzed around in his garden. Whenever they release out a heat alert, I call Bob to make sure he isn’t out in the sun, plus hopefully he has the air conditioning on. Bob regularly tells me he has the fans running, even though he still doesn’t feel he needs a better air conditioning unit. I hope my father has the ability to continue working outdoors for a long time. If he ever needs to stay inside plus use air conditioning to be comfy, I feel Bob will just supply up.
