My mom wanted to buy new Heating and A/C equipment before Summer arrived… For two months, I watched her plus dad swing between having central Heating and A/C installed, or buying a ductless Heating and A/C system.
My folks already had ductwork, plus had been relying on central Heating and A/C for almost twenty years, but that was how outdated the equipment was. They installed new central HVAC when they obtained the house. The air ductwork was already in the house, plus they figured it had to be at least fifty years old. When they last got the ductwork checked, the Heating and A/C corporation found more cracks plus holes than it had 2 years earlier; Dad was thinking the metal was getting too old, plus would soon be rusting inside, if it wasn’t already; Adding the cost of brand new ductwork to the cost of new Heating and A/C unit was going to be out of their comfort level. Dad said they simply couldn’t afford to have new ductwork installed plus purchase this new Heating and A/C equipment. I walked in plus told dad I had been enjoying a TV infomercial from the local Heating and A/C business. They were talking about the next gen of ductless Heating and A/C systems. The mini split ductless Heating and A/C system was a lot cheaper to run. It didn’t use fossil fuel plus was efficient in HVAC. He told me he had watched the same infomercial, which was why he plus mom were considering ductless Heating and A/C. Dad asked my opinion, which surprised me. I was eighteen, plus never once Dad asked for my opinion. I had to go with the ductless. My folks and I had ductless Heating and A/C installed in time for summer.
