One of the worst things about dealing with my HVAC system is hiring an HVAC professional to come service it.
The HVAC company I use is wonderful, but I hate having to be home for the appointments.
I live alone, so I always have to take a personal day to let the HVAC professional in. Sometimes, I can get away with a long lunch break, but it’s a risk because I never know which HVAC professional is going to show up and how quickly they’re going to work. During my last HVAC service appointment, I was told I’d need to replace my HVAC system within a few months. It was over 12 years old and costing me an arm and a leg to keep running. It felt like I was constantly calling the HVAC company to come repair it and I didn’t have many personal days left. I was worried about the HVAC installation though, because I knew I didn’t know how long it would take to remove the old HVAC system and replace it with the new HVAC system. I took one personal day and prayed that the HVAC company could have everything done in one day instead of two. To my surprise, they removed the old HVAC system and replaced it with the new HVAC system in under 3 hours! Once the new HVAC system was installed, they spent another 30 minutes cleaning up their mess and they were out the door before lunchtime. Thankfully, I was able to squeeze in a half day at work instead of missing a full day!
