My parents have always wanted to turn their three car garage into a game room.

They do not want to utilize the garage doors at all. They would also need to add more lighting, carpet, and an HVAC system. They want to be able to use this area for guests traveling in the area, as well. Adding HVAC to a garage is not an easy task. They quickly learned that they would need to hire a team of professionals to install heating and AC units to the garage. The ultimate plan would be for the garage to be a place for visitors to stay long term and in a few years, move my dads mother into the garage. Granny was getting old and they knew they would need a plan in place when the time came that Granny was no longer able to live by herself. Her dementia was getting really bad and my dad knew that time was going to come soon. The cost of the addition would be less than having Granny live in an assisted living facility. The HVAC company that did the installation was quick and professional. My dad does not know much about heating and cooling, but after assisting in the installation, he learned quite a bit about the HVAC industry. Several years have gone by since the garage renovation and my dad still refers the HVAC company to do work on other peoples homes.
