Growing up, my grandfather was always working.
He had a very successful HVAC company in our town.
Everyone knew of the company and went to him for all of their heating and air conditioning needs. The business was around for 30 years. His father was the original owner. When his father passed the HVAC company down to him, he decided to expand into the neighboring towns. As expected, the reputation followed to the neighboring towns. The HVAC business was bringing to twice the revenue by the first year! When the company was passed down to my brother, he wanted to continue the family business, but did not feel comfortable having several locations. He closed all of the locations except for the original one in our town. He had his friends manage the company while he focused on his career. The HVAC technicians would sometimes travel to other towns to do repairs. Everyone knows of the company and trusted that they would do good, quality work. Over the years, the HVAC company has had several owners, but the reputation has stayed the same. My grandfather would be so happy to see that the company has upheld the reputation of quality HVAC work. There are no plans to close the company at any point, so this could be a family tradition for many years to come. This is great as it ensures that there will jobs available as the family grows and expands.
