Many benefits of home security system

When I initially considered the installation of a home security system, I was deterred by the hassle of installation, paying monthly fees and potentially dealing with false alarms.

  • However, there are a lot more benefits than drawbacks.

Several of my neighbors have lost jewelry, cash and electronics because of home invasions. A home security system includes an extremely loud alarm that works to scare off intruders. Plus, the monitoring company notifies the local authorities and makes sure help is on the way. I’ve read that the presence of a security system is often enough to deter crime. Having the security company’s sign in my front yard is as valuable as the system itself. I like that I can remotely keep track of what’s happening at home from my phone from virtually anywhere. I have surveillance cameras mounted indoors and outdoors as well as keyless door locks and smart lighting that are all connected to an easy-to-use app. I’m able to watch real time video, turn on lights, lock doors and make sure all is as it should be at any time of the day or night. Having the security system monitored 24/7 requires a monthly fee. However, I’ve also lowered my homeowner’s insurance premium by 20%. Along with protecting against robbery, the security system includes carbon monoxide detectors, smoke alarms and flood sensors. This helps to prevent safety risks and potential damage to the home. Another advantage of having the security system is that ability to know when my kids arrive home from school. I don’t need to worry about one of them losing their key. They can unlock the door through their phones. I get a text message notification when they’ve arrived.
