Right before my ex-spouse left, she had a central a/c installed in the house.
- I wasn’t sure why she had an up-to-date heating and air conditioning system installed if she wasn’t going to be living here, but I thanked her, and even though we hadn’t gotten along in years, I wished him good fortune when he said he had found someone else and was leaving.
We had already talked about divorce, and my pal and I were still friends. I loved the heater, and it kept me nice and cozy during the winter season, but when summer time arrived last year, I hated it. The a/c device worked too much, and it never cooled the condo properly. I was used to window a/c units, and I wanted them back. I went to the basement to see if they were down there. I was planning on turning the central a/c off and putting the window a/c units back in. When I didn’t find them in the basement, I looked in the attic, but to no avail. My last resort was to go into the garage. I hadn’t been in the garage for years, because it has always been a dark and depressing place. Had I known my ex had cleaned it out before leaving, I may have gone in there first. Not only was it cleaned out, but he had the window a/c units on a shelf. I called a neighbor of mine and asked if she could help me out. Two hours later, we had the window a/c units installed, the central a/c was removed, and my great friend and I were celebrating with red wine.
