Jen was completely ignorant when it came to the topic of indoor air quality.
Having been raised and lived all her life inside a sizable city, pollution was particularly something she dealt with on a daily basis.
Yet, living in a home building with radiant heating and window A/C, Jen didn’t know anything about indoor air quality. This is yet another thing she is learning. And this particular learning curve comes as a first time homeowner. There is so much to learn for sure. The fact is, this is the first time Jen has ever lived inside central cooling. So there was so much to learn there. But the local Heating and A/C experts have been awesome about all of that. Jen had to replace the Heating and A/C device when she first bought this beach house. So she got lots of tips about living with and in central A/C. In fact, that’s where the topic of indoor air quality was first broached. Jen learned that just because she now lives in a rural area basically free of air pollution, she isn’t free of indoor air contaminants. From pet dander, pollen and even the chemicals that leach from the carpet and furniture, her respiratory system is under attack. And to promote fantastic health and immune response, Jen needed to do things differently. She now has a HEPA filter which traps and gets rid of more than 99 percent of all indoor contaminants. It’s made a world of difference. But soon, she is going for a whole-home air purifier that will give the cleanest and best indoor air quality possible.
