I haven’t exercised in three days now and I am feeling like an old fossil.
- I’ve had something for a few days that is making me not feel too well, so I am trying to rest my body and let it recover so I can get back to being me again.
I haven’t had a few days of rest like this in a long time and I think it is my body’s way of telling me I need to slow down a bit and take time to smell the roses. It is easy to keep pushing yourself, like an HVAC system that runs the whole summer without stopping once. You need to let the body rest enough so that it has the energy to ward off diseases like the one that I have right now. My oil furnace was running all the time last winter without me cleaning the furnace filter and the thing finally caved in and stopped working one day, telling me that I need to do more maintenance if I want to stay warm on those cold winter days. I push myself a lot and I need to start taking better care of my body by drinking less beer and eating less bad foods. I like to get a burger at the local business once a week, or sometimes even twice a week, and maybe I need to cut back on that and start eating more veggies like my heating tech friend does. She is really healthy and makes me feel guilty sometimes when I eat a burger, but at least I cut out all sugar from my diet a few years ago.
