Water should never come out of the furnace.

I walked into the basement last month, where I saw there was water pouring from the furnace! I was terrified the water would run my well dry, it was coming out so abruptly.

I contacted the local Heating and A/C corporation plus told them water was coming from my furnace, so I needed their help badly.

The Heating and A/C service tech told me water shouldn’t be coming from the furnace, unless I used a boiler. He asked how my heat got distributed? I didn’t know. I just knew I heard the furnace running, plus after that I had working heat. I paid for oil when I needed it for the furnace. If there wasn’t oil or electricity, I didn’t have working heat. The Heating and A/C serviceman told me he would be there shortly, but I should switch off the water. He had to walk me through turning the water off. I closed off the water valve, even though he had me turn off the main valve, which meant I had no water flowing anywhere in my house, plus I wasn’t ecstatic. I hoped the Heating and A/C service tech would arrive soon. When he got there, he told me to call a plumber. The boiler was in pretty good condition, but the pipes needed replacing. I asked him how a boiler worked, plus why I didn’t have a furnace. He told me a boiler heated water, plus the water flowed through metal pipes plus the heat from the pipes sent heat into the house. I called my younger sibling who was a plumber plus told him I needed brand new water pipes for the boiler system. I didn’t understand anything he was saying about the boiler system, but I understood needing a plumber.
