At the restaurant where I work, we see a lot of people on dates.
The setting in the restaurant is romantic and quaint.
We have a wonderful chef who is always looking to try something new. The chef is from a country where cooking is a lifestyle for most people who live there. One busy weekend, the chef and staff started to notice that the restaurant was very warm. Sometimes, when the restaurant is very busy, the temperature inside can become very warm and at times, uncomfortable. On this specific night, there was a lovely couple visiting the restaurant for the first time. After talking to them for a few minutes about the specials and wine list, I noticed that they seemed to be uncomfortably warm. They were a very nice couple and did not want to make a fuss. I soon learned that the air conditioner had stopped working in the restaurant around 2:00 pm. Because it was now 6:00 pm on a weekend, there was no hope of getting an HVAC technician out to the restaurant repair our A/C system. The chef was so upset that the air conditioning system was not working for the guests that he considered closing the restaurant early that night! All of the staff members were obviously against this idea because this was a busy night and they would be able to make a lot of money on an evening like this. After some brainstorming, one of the employees offered to call his cousin who was an HVAC technician. He knew it was a weekend night and he would usually not come out to do a repair, but he owed him a favor. The HVAC technician was at the restaurant an hour later and was able to repair the issue promptly.
