We’re now about 7 years into owning this gas furnace, early this winter, I came dwelling to a frosty dwelling which was the first time that had ever happened. If I could do it over, I would like that moment back so I could have called the HVAC corporation immediately. Instead, I decided to take matters into my own hands as well as see what I could do with the gas furnace. I ended up finding what looked to be a burnt out switch as well as replaced it with one from the hardware store. Turns out, that switch was not factory authorized as a replacement. It ended up failing which caused the gas furnace to overheat. The HVAC corporation was able to come out as well as fix what I had done. But what they couldn’t fix was the fact that I had voided the warranty on my gas furnace because I was dumb enough to assume I could repair it.
