Jack and I had a really long week of work and we decided to go fishing on Saturday and Sunday.
I rented a boat at the marina for both days and we stayed at a fish camp nearby. The first day we spent on the water, I got a very bad sunburn. My wife wasn’t there to tell me to put on sunscreen three or four times and I absolutely and totally forgot. When we went back to camp for the night, I felt my arms and legs getting sore and stiff. I laid down on the couch by the ductless air conditioner. Jack adjusted the thermostat so the air conditioner would run continuously. The cold temperatures felt great. Even truly I fell asleep for a couple of hours. I felt even more burnt when I woke up from my nap. I decided to take a cold shower. After the shower, I laid down in front of the air conditioner again. All of the cold air and cold water helps a great deal. The next morning I felt a lot better. I was ready to get up and go. We caught a couple of fish on Saturday, but Sunday was a really good day. I pulled up a large red snapper that was one of the biggest fish that I have ever brought onto a boat. It had to have been 30 or 40 lb. The fish put up quite a fight. I never would have been able to keep the fish on the line if I had not taken time to relax and rest after getting sunburned so badly the previous day.
