We’ve had a lot of really sunny weather over the past 2 months.

This is the time of the year where we don’t get very much rain.

By the time we get to the late summer season, it rains almost every single afternoon. It gets so bad that the yard will start to flood and then the dogs track mud in the house when they come in from outside. Each fan of the rainy season, but this is just part of it. I intend to like it when it’s a little dryer outside like it is right now. I can actually go hiking at the nature preserve without worrying about mud there either. However, the heat right now is pretty unbearable. It gets so hot outside that I start to sweat considerably. And all the heat that bears down on me when I’m outside is bearing down on our house. It hits the roof and it bakes the entire home throughout the afternoon hours. That radiant heat from the sun will make the roof in the Attic considerably hot. Since the ventilation system for our HVAC system is located in the attic, the ductwork is always warm by default. We’re constantly putting cold air through dunk work that’s exposed to so much heat. Well there’s a little bit of insulation around the ductwork, it doesn’t account for the insane amount of heat that we get as well. I end up running the air conditioning system a lot just to keep the temperatures down in the house. Inevitably that means our energy bill goes up to account for all of the air conditioning use.

My EV stock has really been tanking wow. I am not stressing about it though as I will leave that for the CEO of the company that is fighting to stay afloat. The price is now at 17 cents a share, down from the $10 I bought it at about two years ago, and if it keeps sinking my money is going to be all but gone. I had $100K when I bought the sinking ship stock and now it is worth a whopping $1700, almost comical at this point. I’m not selling and am just forgetting about my HVAC tech savings for a few years to see what happens with it. Either the company is going to go bankrupt at some point or they will rise out of the ashes and make a name for themselves. I did so many a/c system and heating device sales over ten years to earn that money, and on a whim I tossed it all in the wind with this flimsy EV company that I thought was going to explode. They could still end up making me money but it is not looking good right now, so it all comes down to patience at this point and maybe a little luck. The heating corp boss feels really bad about my deal but I am not worried about losing it all because money comes and goes and that is just how it is. I still have food to eat and can run my mini split a/c unit in the summer to stay comfortable so what is there to worry about?

I am going to make it a point not to use my laptop after 9pm because it really messes with my sleep patterns.

The only issue with that is by the time I get back from the beach at night it is already 10pm and I can’t check any messages or do anything else online at that point or I won’t sleep well. Anyway, today I got my new portable air conditioner for my bedroom so that my flatmate isn’t cold in her room with the central HVAC system running all night. I think it will also save me $30 a month running this little unit, which means it would pay for itself after two summers, so that is pretty cool because it’ll end up being a free unit after that. If I run the cooling system in my bedroom for five months that would save me $150 approximately, and for $240 the unit will be paid for in no time. This way I can keep my bedroom as cold as I want it without bothering my flatmate, who tends to be cold most of the time. I think my body is heating up more when I sleep because of my metabolism and I have always liked to have cold a/c when I sleep except for in the middle of winter, when I keep the bedroom window open for my climate control.

Grandpa and I have this amazing connection, and it started a long time ago. When grandma was alive, I’d go visit them when I was a kid. Most summers I enjoyed going to stay with them at the farm, and help grandpa in his workshop. At the height of his farming career, he had a warehouse full of tractors and machines. When one would need repair, grandpa never hired a professional for that. Instead, he put on his coveralls and went to work. This is where my passion for auto mechanics comes from. When it was time for me to go to college, I chose to become an auto mechanic. And it’s been the best thing ever since I now own my own shop. The earnings are good and a few years ago I bought my first house. It was an older house, but with good bones. After the purchase was complete, I began doing renovations with a friend which included replacing the heating and cooling system. See, in our area, you need a reliable HVAC system in your home. This house had an old heating and cooling unit, so I had a specialist replace that. There was also an old thermostat that seemed faulty. There was an option to fix it and keep using the thermostat in my home. However, I chose to replace it so I’d get something more compatible with the new HVAC system. However, the problem was how to go about HVAC installation since we’d only experienced quality HVAC in the comfort of our parent’s homes. My best friend suggested seeking input from an a/c worker who told her we could use an electric heat pump or a ductless mini-split AC. We had yet to learn the difference between the two but knew they both offer energy-efficient help with indoor comfort. The cooling specialist explained the difference in simple terms but out of the many things he said. I only understood that our space was tiny enough to get the cheaper mini-split system over the heat pump. I leaned towards it more because it was cost-effective to purchase and maintain. The a/c professional also assured us that the unit would easily fit into our lifestyle, where we easily leave for a month, and would be more efficient with a digital thermostat for each room. We didn’t have to ship in our unit because the local cooling corporation had them in stock, and the indoor comfort business expert installation fee was also affordable. My main worry was that we’d need to catch up with the expected air conditioner tune-up routine and end up damaging it. We even made a calendar schedule for the rest of the year with an alarm reminding us to keep up with air conditioner service. The numerous times my DIY activities have failed should have been enough warning that I could not clean an HVAC installation independently.

I didn’t expect that we would have to do some of the maintenance without calling the a/c professional for air conditioner service. The good news is that we wouldn’t have to do it if we didn’t want to because routine maintenance could easily cover it. I was glad that we wouldn’t have any ducts to clean up, and the cost of maintenance, though more frequent than we were used to, was affordable for us. We haven’t had any trouble with it since installation.
