After a year in a home without air conditioning, we finally had enough savings to afford a home with an HVAC installation.

Of course, it wasn’t a mansion, but enough for our small family, so it wasn’t a problem that the house we had was equipped with a ductless mini-split unit to help with indoor comfort.

We were all relieved, especially since we found the place just before winter hit. I was anxious about maintaining the quality HVAC and keeping up with the air conditioner tune-up. My husband suggested booking the air conditioner service offered by the local indoor comfort business and seeing if it was possible to get a cooling specialist to familiarize us with the unit. It wasn’t a new unit, so we didn’t know whether it was working well, and we had yet to use a digital thermostat. It all felt very intimidating. The cooling corporation did send an a/c worker over to our new home before we moved in to walk us through how everything should work. At first, the a/c professional thought we had an electric heat pump but quickly spotted the unit once we let him in. None of us bothered to ask what the unit he mentioned looked like because we wanted to learn about what we would be dealing with. The technician checked the unit for any issues, and lucky for us, there were none. We learned how to change the units’ air filters and settings on the thermostat. The only thing I didn’t want to learn was how to clean the unit. It was too early to complete a complex task, so we left it out for routine maintenance.

When I was looking to get a new air conditioning system I wasn’t sure which one I was wanting to get.

There were a lot of different air conditioning systems that were available on the market at the time.

The more that I looked at all the different air conditioning systems that were available the more I became confused as to which one would be right for me. I did a lot of research as a heating and AC businesses and I was still coming up empty-handed. It felt like to me that no matter which way I looked there was always an excellent air conditioning system right around the corner. How is that going to choose with all these good air conditioners to pick from? After researching for several weeks I felt like I had had it narrowed down to about two different types of air conditioning systems. One was a simple window air conditioning system. I liked the fact that it was simple. I wasn’t looking for any overly complex central air conditioning system. But there was also a nicer ductless mini split AC system that also would like it to be good for what I was needing an AC for. I decided to get some advice from a friend of mine who also had a ductless mini split air conditioning system and she told me that they were a great choice if I was looking to get a new air conditioner. So I decided to go with a ductless mini with air conditioning system. After having it for about a week I’m happy with my choice, this air conditioning system has been working great for me and my family.

• I am not the biggest fan of vinegar simply because of its acrid smell.

It leaves that gross aroma on whatever surfaces you clean with it. I genuinely think that vinegar smells like body odor half of the time when you’re trying to use it to clean something. Granted, I understand that vinegar is good at what it does, but it’s not always the best choice if I want a surface to smell fresh and clean after I’m done with it. These are important factors to consider because the aroma that’s left behind when you’re finished cleaning is important when you want your whole house to smell good. That’s why more often than not I’ll clean with bleach or some kind of deodorizer that’s designed to make something smell good. Bleach is good in some respects because it kills almost everything, but at the same time it isn’t always that good at deodorizing. I have to use bleach to clean the condensate line in my air conditioner for instance. This condensate line is where all of the exhaust water goes from the air conditioner as it pulls the moisture from your indoor air. This is part of the air conditioning process, and the water has to go somewhere or would flood the air conditioner and wherever the air conditioner is located in your house. Cleaning the condensate line with bleach will prevent clogs from algae or microbial buildup.

I really appreciate it whenever my cousin offers to give me something from his house.

The last time it was a perfectly working LED screen TV that he no longer needed because he had upgraded to a bigger model. That was an exciting weekend because it meant I could finally have a bigger television myself. I even invited some friends over that weekend to watch a football game because of the new TV in my living room. Then I took the old TV for my living room and put it in my bedroom. I was really happy and fortunate for my cousin’s help. The other day he told me to come over to his house because he had a bunch of junk in his basement he didn’t need any more. Get a box of old comic books that was actually worth some money, but he didn’t have the time or the patience to try to sell them. He basically told me to grab whatever I wanted. But the other thing he had was an old window air conditioner. He had only used it three times before taking it out of the window it was in and storing it. It was almost brand new in terms of its condition. I was happy to take the window air conditioner off his hands. However when I got it to my house, it didn’t fit in the window I wanted to put it in. Obviously I didn’t size the window air conditioner ahead of time, I just hoped it would fit when I saw it at my cousin’s house. I’m going to save it and use it for a different window eventually, because it’s a really good quality machine even if it doesn’t fit.

Seems like everything in my house right now is breaking down.

My clothes dryer just stopped working the other night and I’m not sure exactly why. I have to pull the machine out away from the wall and take it apart from the back to see what’s wrong. There are at least three different components on the dryer that I need to check with my electrical meter to see what could be wrong with it. The first one is the door switch. This is the switch that tells the machine that the door is either open or closed. If the door switch breaks, the machine will not turn on. The other thing that could be wrong with it is the start button. It’s a similar situation where if the start button broke, the machine just won’t stay running. And then the last thing I need to check before going further, is the thermal fuse in the back. This is a fuse that will tell the dryer to turn off if it gets too hot. And it’s just a matter of making sure each one of the components is thoroughly checked by an electrical meter. Fortunately, I’m not so sure about fixing my space heater. I don’t even know what I need to do to get it working again. It stopped the other night and I can’t get it to turn back on. I have wondered at times if perhaps it’s just a matter of getting me a tip over switch to work again because it’s similar to the other switches inside of the clothes dryer. You basically have to check that nothing has been broken in the process. A space heater can break fairly easily and sometimes you just have to buy a new one and replace it.

I know that my children mean well, however sometimes they just don’t behave even when I supply them strict instruction otherwise, and i don’t want to have to treat them every single time they go out to the store just to drive them into behaving well.

I think it’s a dangerous road to go down in addition to establish the wrong trend, then because then they’ll be expecting rewards just for behavior that should be expected of them regardless of the situation… And then in the future they’re not going to have the values in addition to the character built inside to behave properly just because it’s the right thing to do.

It’s not tscheme morality if you have to see an ulterior motive for doing the right thing. You need to be able to make the right decisions in life regardless of how something could benefit you in the long run, then right now we’re trying to teach our children to keep their hands off the thermostat for the central HVAC system. After going back in addition to forth with them, I decided to put a lock box over the thermostat. It’s basically a clear plastic box with a key pour on it that you manually unlock every time you want to access the thermostat. These were over thermostats in our dorm rooms in university. Basically the thermostat would get set by the administration in addition to then it would be locked so you couldn’t change it as a student. I feel frustrated that I have to use a lock box over the HVAC thermostat, however it’s the only solution right now until our children learn more self control.

I have had a mix of unusual living situations since I was a kid.

I did not always live with my parents for instance.

There was at least a 5-year phase between my early teen years plus the end of high college where I was living with my uncle plus uncle. It undoubtedly was a great experience for me with everything considered, but my own uncle gave me a lot more structure plus stability in my life than my parents were able to prior. It also gave me an experience of living out west which I have not been able to replicate the year since. I started living alone when I was in college! During my junior year I had a dorm room on campus that was a private household essentially. I had a little miniature kitchen area including a bathroom all to myself. They were basically studio apartments plus college. I’ve gotten used to living alone because I like the flexibility plus freedom it gives me. I can set the temperature to whatever I want it to be indoors. I can control what a/c plus boilers to my discretion. This is substantial for me because I have actually recognizable preferences when it comes to how I sleep at night plus what temperature I want the air to be at, usually I like it as low as 70 degrees or even 74 degrees with a hot blanket. It’s nice having a smart thermostat that allows me to control my a/c plus boiler just from bed or even while I’m at work or on trip.

That’s the thing that stays in the back of my head when I see all these strategies for a better life.

There is so much of just making things complicated that are entirely quite easy… One great example is splitting air conditioning costs in the Summer; For sure, I’m all for ways to eliminate what can end up being entirely high costs for cooling! My buddy and I live in a region where the Summer months are brutally hot. So of course, my pal and I all count on our heat pumps to help us when it comes to being comfortable inside our home. I need to get around to finishing all my chores for the Fall season.

I like to stick to doing a lot of toil around the household on a seasonal rotation.

A lot of the toil I do in the Fall is raking leaves outside. So numerous leaves fall for my oak as well as maple trees that it seems like I never stop having to rake them through October, October, as well as October. Although by the time my buddy and I get to October the leaves are usually done falling from the trees. At that point the trees are completely barren as well as look decayed as well as decrepit.
