I will make a good old man one day with all of these naps that I like to take.

• I can’t believe that I will be a 70 year old man in less than 15 years, time just slips on by like melting ice cream running down your hand.

I can’t quite grasp the concept of time and it seems that years go by without even noticing it. I guess the best thing is to enjoy the moment and try to have a good time while we are living, then to worry about death and all the other stuff. My HEPA filter salesman buddy never worried about dying, in fact, he told me he was more worried about not living than dying. I am just floating along each day like a cloud with not much responsibility of any kind except for my normal household chores and shopping. My heating and cooling job is easy and I work about two hours a day doing heat pump repairs and helping out around the HVAC business during the week. I think I could do this for another five or six years and then I am going to get about $1000 a month from my SS benefits. That should pay for my heating and cooling bills, my rent, and any other monthly bills I have. Then I just need to earn a couple hundred a month for food and I am all set each month. I think I can work part time for the local contractor until I am really old and can’t work anymore.

I really like winter because I get to bed at a decent hour and can get up early in the morning while still getting a good amount of sleep. In the summers it is a different story though, with the sun setting around 10pm I find myself getting to bed after midnight most nights, and that doesn’t jibe well with my early morning rising routine. I won’t be playing as much volleyball this summer so maybe I will be able to go to bed earlier, as we would hang out till really late after playing some matches. The local business by the beach has cold beer waiting for us after we play, and with ample air conditioning inside it makes it tough to leave for home at night. I am also going to be playing more music this summer because there will be a lot of tourists in town and we can make a good chunk of money each night playing in the streets. This heating technician sometimes joins us with his harmonica and we have a lot of fun playing for hours. I think we are going to be doing some gigs in the beach bars this summer and should make even more money doing those kinds of shows. I don’t need cold air conditioning in the beach bars as there is usually a nice cool breeze that does a good job of cooling us down while we play. I just want to have fun and make a little bit of money to pay the bills, that’s about it for me.

I like to talk about technology because I was an engineer for a long time and it reminds me of the stuff I use to work on back in the day

I still feel a bit tired from this mild cold or allergy that I have, but with some good food and a warm flat I think I’m gonna make it. I am eating a grilled cheese sandwich with a big glass of tomato soup, which kind of reminds me of the taste of pizza but a bit healthier. I like to use spelt bread and try to avoid eating all of that wheat, and instead of butter I use olive oil for the sandwich. My cooling and heating buddy got me hooked on this for lunch and I really like it. I think it is a pretty healthy version of pizza, healthy enough to eat a couple times a week as a matter of fact. It fills me up enough so that when I work on ductwork all day, or if I am at the HVAC company for hours doing inventory, I don’t feel hungry until it is time for dinner. I also like to eat a salad with the sandwich, and on days when I don’t have the grilled cheese I just have a huge salad with some tuna fish. I eat at the local business once a week with my HVAC rep and we talk about the field and how it has been evolving over the years. It is the middle of March and we may be doing a little trip to the mountain cabin in the beginning of April for ten days to do some shows in the ski resorts. We don’t know yet if it is available, but if it is then I am going to ask my friend if she wants to come along with us for a few days. She could come back by train if she didn’t want to stay the full ten days. I want to get into some clubs in the lodges on a regular basis, as long as heating is available while we do our sets. I don’t like to be freezing cold when I am playing drums and singing because it makes it really tough to play well when your hands are like ice pops. A good space heater is all I need while drumming so that my hands stay warm. I could probably even bring my own device if I wanted to, but I feel that most of the clubs that we will be doing show at will have some kind of HVAC system in them. Even if they don’t have that they must have some way of keeping the skiers warm after coming back from the slopes. A nice fireplace would be really sweet because there is nothing like watching a good fire while playing music for the skiers. We have a unique sound and I can’t wait to show the world what we are doing. My heating expert dad is going to get us an RV soon also!

The weather is shifting to the warmer side and the winds have really been picking up the past couple of weeks.

I had some really bad allergies a few days ago and at first I thought I was coming down with some type of cold or something.

I feel okay now but I still have some symptoms that are making me quite tired in the meantime. I think it is from all of the wind blowing the dust and pollen around town. I am staying in the flat most of the day to avoid the pollen, and my air purifier is running nonstop to clean the air in my flat so that I am not bothered by allergies while working each day. I should be okay in a day or two because I’ve been taking allergy meds and they seem to be stopping most of the symptoms. I have to go to the local business near me and grab a furnace filter, and then go to the pharmacy to get my neighbor some pills that they let me borrow. I will go there in a couple of hours when the lines in the stores start to slow down just after lunchtime. My heating pro buddy is coming by later to help me with the ducts in my house and then we will have a nice lunch together and hang out for a while. I will go to sleep early tonight and get rested for tomorrow because we are going to be playing music in the streets around sunset time. It should be a fun time.

I’m trying to keep extra warm right now so that my body has the energy to fight off this sore throat.

I think it is from allergies, as the past few days have been very windy and a lot of pollen got blown around the city and made its way into my body.

I have to go to the pharmacy today or tomorrow and grab some more allergy pills so that my allergies stay at bay. I may play some music tomorrow with my HVAC tech bandmate if I am feeling better, but I will wait till the morning to see how my throat feels. If I am still feeling under the weather then we will postpone the practice for two more days and do it on Friday when there are more people in town. The heating dealership is open today and I may go work there for a few hours with this other cooling specialist if I am feeling better. If I don’t feel better, then I am going to just relax today and chill out at home with my cats and go to bed early tonight. I think my hydronic heater keeping me warm is the best idea, as this sore throat will less likely spread around my body if I just stay warm and rest for the day. My friend may stop by later to hang out but I need to see if I am even up for that with these allergies of mine. I should also try to run my whole home air purifier all day to keep the air quality good.

Heating and air conditioning

Mr Fluff is on my chest right now as I try to write this article. He is my fat cat and his sister is the thin one, as Mr Fluff tends to eat most of the food I give them each morning and evening. I am putting Fluff on a diet now because he is getting a bit on the fat side, and as for Baby, well I guess I am going to put her on a wait gain diet. They are both the same age but he is a lot bigger than her because he is a pig. HVAC heating is needed this morning because the winter is not done with us just yet, which means my space heater is going to have to come back out of the box I put it in last week. It is March 14th and we probably have a couple more weeks of cold, and then things will change quickly and the heat will come back. I have to go to the local business today and get a bunch of tomato juice for my grilled cheese lunches next to my heating device. I think tomato soup is really good for the body because tomatoes have lycopene in them, which is supposed to be good for fighting cancer. I am also running down to the heating and cooling supplier shop later to grab a few HEPA filters for my HVAC system so that this summer I will have them on hand when they need to be changed out. That is about all for the day for me.

My brother is making a killing with his sticky bun business way over in the far east.

It doesn’t seem to bother him though that he rarely gets to see his family back in the States.

He doesn’t seem to have the connection that I do with our relatives, which is pretty sad because they are a really lovely group of people. But my brother is an engineer and has that kind of cold engineer mentality, but I am one too yet I don’t have that cold shoulder when it comes to family. My brother and I ran an air conditioner repair service for a while before he changed course and got into the sticky bun business. Now he brings in like $45K a month, just making desserts for people in his town. How funny is it that an engineering HVAC business owner became a baker instead! I guess if you are making that kind of money though, it doesn’t matter what you are doing. Well, I am going to turn on my central a/c system and get some cool air ripping through these ducts because this flat is getting way too hot right now. We are only in the beginning of March yet it is getting really hot out already, which is telling me that this summer is going to be a scorcher. I am lucky we had our HVAC system serviced recently and that it is all ready for the heat that is going to be coming very soon. I think I’ll give momma a call later and check in, don’t forget to call your momma too, it’s been a long time since ya did!

It is one in the afternoon right now and I am finishing up my work for the day.

Once I am done with this stuff I am going to go get some food at the store. The best time to shop for food is between three and four in the afternoon, this is when all of the retired folks are done shopping and the stores are really quiet then. I will grab some food and then prepare dinner so it is ready when I come home from the beach tonight after watching a nice sunset with friends. I have heating and cooling work to do tomorrow with this HVAC pro and then we are going to take a little roadtrip to another town to grab some dinner. I need to decide if I should go back to the States this summer or wait until the winter holidays to travel back home. My cooling and heating provider friend will have some work for me if I go back, but I guess it all depends on whether my investments go up in value or not. If they don’t then I won’t have enough money to travel back home this summer and will have to wait nine more months to do so. I just want to see my local contractor buddies back home and visit all of my family before they get too old. I may move back home in a year if the music career I am working on here fizzles out, but if it doesn’t then I am stuck here I guess.
