My buddy and I are supposed to play music later, however I have a feeling there won’t be anybody on the streets because of the terrible weather. Oh well, my associate and I will play anyway in addition to try to come up with some new sounds in addition to music. My buddy and I had a relaxing run of music yesterday in addition to now my associate and I need to let go of them in addition to transport on to new ones. It is genuinely straightforward to cling to the regular in addition to not grow, however to become relaxing you need to push ahead for the most part. Heating is on the agenda as I sit in my household next to my little infrared electric heater. I am a bit sick of playing this week in the cold, however then again I had the same voice trying to keep me off the stage when I was doing standup. “This club has no cooling device, that club has no heating, I have a sore throat”, there are a million excuses that try to hold us down in addition to you have to ignore them in addition to forge ahead pretty much. My Heating in addition to A/C rep neighbor explained to me that if you have talent, you have to push through fear to get to success. I can recall her telling me this as my associate and I inspected a commercial Heating in addition to A/C device a few years ago, in addition to I could not agree with her more, and I genuinely will keep pushing ahead in addition to hoping for better times with our music, I just hope I have the tenacity to do all of this. Well, I am going to change my heating device filter, see ya on the streets.

Today is an easy day for me with work.

It is Saturday and I am going to finish this story and then head out to see what is happening on the coast.

It is the middle of March and the temps are starting to shift to the warmer side of the thermometer, which is a welcome thing after the long and cold winter we just had. This town has been empty for months and I am ready to see some new energy enter here and wake us all up from our winter hibernation. I slept a lot and my air purifier really kept the air quality good in this flat this winter, especially with all of the dampness we have had from the lack of sun and all of the rain. I will get my work done today and then spend the rest of the day in quietness, so that I can rest up for tonight when we do our gig at this big bar in another town. The place has a good climate control system, which is good because they allow smoking in the place, and if it weren’t for the good air purifying system in the club we would all get smoked out from all of the cigarettes people smoke in there. I am not a smoker, so when others are smoking it really messes up my lungs and affects my singing capabilities. They have a big HVAC system right beside the stage with a big HEPA filter to pull in all of that nasty smoke that is floating around. It should be a fun night.

I am recouping from the music we played last night and trying to get my energy back so we can do it again tonight.

We didn’t make any money last night playing, but our goal is to just practice and that is what we got accomplished.

The money we make when we play is just an added bonus and we are both very grateful for anything that comes our way while we practice our craft. Some nights we pull in $450 on a busy night in one of the busy towns, which is pretty good for playing music. The local business where we play in front of gets a good crowd of people, especially when they have an HVAC sale on all of their systems in the store. I would like to do a gig inside the place one day and see how many people we can pack in there. They have good heating in the place, so if we played there during the winter we wouldn’t have to worry about not having any climate control while we played for a couple of hours. I think they will have us play there next winter if we can keep bringing in the crowds like we have been. There is another heating supplier shop on the beach that is talking about having us play there this summer, and I am hoping that they have a good mini split a/c unit to keep us cool while we play in the heat. I think they have some ceiling fans, so in the worst case scenario we can play under one of them.

My brain is a bit foggy this morning, spending a lot of the night tossing and turning thinking about our band and our music.

I let the music teacher above me listen to one of our songs to tell me what he thinks about it but I never got a response.

This leads me to believe that he thinks the music is very bad and he is wondering why I made him listen to the terrible song. That is what goes through my mind as I ponder why he never responded to my query. I guess the HVAC company is going to be my work for the rest of my life, and I thought I could leave the cooling industry and become a famous musician! I need to get the nerve up to ask the music teacher what we did wrong in the song I sent him so I can figure out what needs to be fixed. His heating system is having problems and maybe I could talk with him if I offered my HVAC tech services to him. I could work on the unit and then slip in a question about my music and see what he says. I could also offer him a free HEPA filter in exchange for some singing lessons one day. I am sure there is something I can offer, even some cash, to have him help me become a better singer and musician. The cooling and heating supplier is open today and I may run down there to see if I can grab a washable HEPA filter for the neighbor.

I’m listening to some fairy tale songs while I work as it puts me in a relaxed state of mind where I can just flow with my work.

I like to chill in my office while I work so that my cats don’t bother me while I am typing.

Sometimes my fat cat likes to plop on my chest while I am typing and it is quite tough to see the screen. So when I really want to get work done I close the office door and get down to business. Right now my cats are out by the a/c system on the front balcony, for some reason they like to sit on top of the HVAC unit out there when it is not running. Sometimes though when the fan kicks on and the cat is sitting on top of the compressor, the fan blows the cat almost right up into the air like three feet. It is funny to see, but the air conditioner isn’t too happy when a fat cat is in the way of the air leaving the cooling unit. I think I will get up and let them in because I can hear them meowing while I type and it is a bit distracting. My HVAC tech roommate has a cat too, but her cat is kind of mean to my cats, so we keep hers in the room where the space heater is. I tried to get them to be friends but her cat just wants to attack mine all of the time, so we have to keep hers in solitary confinement.

I just woke up and am pretty tired this morning after playing drums and singing for a couple of hours last night.

Our batteries in the sound system died, because I must have switched to max power mode before and it ate the batteries pretty quickly.

I think we played for an hour and a half last night before the batteries were finally on zero power. I sang for 15 minutes more without a microphone because my voice is quite loud, and then we packed up and came home. We didn’t make much money, but any money is appreciated. HVAC repairs is my work for this morning at the local business, and then when I finish with that I am going to get ready for another round of singing tonight. I will need a nap later today before we play though, as I still feel kind of beat from not sleeping so well. My air purifier was on when I went to bed but I must have switched it off at some point during the night. I woke up this morning pretty early and was really hungry, so I ate my peanut butter and banana and fell asleep again for another hour or two. The washable HEPA filter in the main HVAC system hasn’t been cleaned in a long time, and I think this afternoon will be a good day to get it cleaned so my allergies stay at bay. I may just pop an allergy pill this morning so I don’t have to worry about sneezing all day long.

The heating business down the road is open again and we are going to go there tomorrow to look at space heaters for the flat

I thought the winter weather was over last week, but I guess I thought wrong. Today is windy and cold and there is no sun in sight. The beaches are empty today because nobody wants to be out in that cold when there is no sun to warm them up. I am kind of tired today because yesterday I played some volleyball and then played some foot volley, and I did that after I worked out with my training partner. So that means I won’t have too much energy for tonight when we play music in the streets. My heating equipment is running well and my flat feels great right now. I like to keep it warm here when I work because if it is too cold my hands don’t work very well and I can’t feel my fingers. I have a small heating device next to me to warm up my hands, but I don’t have it on right now because I am getting ready to leave soon. The heating business down the road is open again and we are going to go there tomorrow to look at space heaters for the flat. We would like to buy two of them if the price is right so we can put one in each bathroom, as the ducts don’t run in there from the main HVAC system and we would like some heat in there when we need it. I don’t like to take a warm shower in the winter and then get out of the shower and step into a cold bathroom.

I am doing some extra writing today as I wait for my bandmate to get here.

We are playing music tonight and I am just grateful that I have the opportunity to do this with such a good guitarist.

Our friend who plays the tambourine may join us, and this other guitar player and singer could end up dropping by as well. That would be cool if we had four people playing music tonight because we can make some pretty cool sounds with all of the instruments. It would be two guitars, a tambourine, and a djembe drum. The local business where we play should have a few people outside, as today they are running a sale on their heating and cooling units and usually they get a lot of people coming by to see what kind of HVAC technology they have in stock. We will play for two hours and then come back to my flat to eat some dinner and listen to our music. Tomorrow we work for the local contractor doing a zone controlled HVAC installation job for this big commercial business in town. I will take Sunday off of work and we will play again in the streets, and hopefully the weather will be better than it is tonight. I am going to make a fire in my fireplace tonight when we come here for dinner and get this place heated up nicely for us all. We will drink a beer or two and get some laughs while we listen to our crazy music on the big sound system.

I’m waiting for my friend Danny to get here and then we will haul our musical equipment down to this big church on the sea to play for a couple of hours.

We want to come up with some new songs and are going to record everything just in case. Some days I don’t feel like playing and singing, but usually once we get out there we feel differently and end up playing for longer than we expected. It’s just that today is a cold and windy day and there is no sun to be seen. My fireplace is crackling away right now, heating the home up to the point where it makes it tough to leave here. It is easy to just stay home all of the time, but not much happens when you are home each day. The oil heater is getting a break and I am waiting on the heating element to arrive for my hot water heater so I can get it replaced and get us some hot water again in this flat. We have been taking cold showers for weeks now and I am ready for a nice hot shower soon. Cold showers are energizing, but having a working hot water heating device would be nice because it is nice to take a hot shower once in a while. I think it is going to arrive soon and then I will drop that thing in the unit and we will be set once again. The heating rep is going to drop by and see if I need help doing it.
