My girlfriend and I spent most of the night arguing on friday, so I was tired on Saturday when I had to get up and go to work. I had a couple of electrical repairs scheduled for the next morning. I work as a licensed electrician at a residential and commercial electrical contracting service near me. I like my job a lot, because I have flexible hours and a good hourly rate. I’ve been working as a licensed electrician for the past 6 years. I didn’t know anything at all when I started this job, but now I can handle just about any residential or commercial repair that needs to be completed. I might need an extra hand to complete the work, but I guarantee that I will be able to figure out why the problem is occurring. As an electrician, I know what it is like to be frazzled. Sometimes I have a lot of things going on at the same time and I have to manage my workspace. I had a customer recently that was frazzled, because she lost her keys. The customer was sitting in the driveway when I arrived. She told me that she had just gotten there. She walked up to the front door with me and she looked in her purse for her keys. She could not find her keys anywhere and the two of us were stranded outside of her house. She looked all over her purse and her car. I asked her if she drove to the house with those keys and she said yes. We checked the ignition and they were still there.
The general contractor thought he was going to make some extra money.
After our house fire, we had to hire a general contractor to rebuild our home.
When deciding how we wanted the house, we knew there were some items we wanted and weren’t sure if they would get them.
We bought the ceiling fans we wanted for each room and took them to the house. We bought the kitchen cabinets and the marble countertops. Along with this, we purchased the central air conditioning unit that wasn’t previously in the house. After they completed the rebuild of the house, the general contractor sent a receipt for the cost of rebuild, and he detailed every item and their prices, to the insurance company. The insurance company mailed us a copy of that receipt, not knowing we had one that was completely different. The general contractor was asking for payment for the cupboards, granite countertops, building of a new room, and a central air conditioning room. I called the insurance company and told them there were a few add-ons that should not be there. The room they were charging for had already been built and only needed the wallboard put up. By the time we went over the list line for line, there was a discrepancy of nearly $25,000. The insurance company thanked us for calling and the general contractor could no longer work for the insurance company. The kicker was when the insurance company told the general contractor he had to paint the house again and make sure it was a professional job, and it didn’t look like a child had done it.
He thought he was saving money on leak repairs.
My husband always did our plumbing.
He hated the job, but he did it fairly well.
Last year, he changed all the pipes in the house. He said plastic pipes wouldn’t rust or corrode and need changed as often. He told me we would save money on leak repairs by putting in the plastic drain pipes. Two weeks after putting in the new pipes, we had a leak. He couldn’t understand why the pipes were leaking. He called his friend, who was a plumber, and asked him to come over. After looking at the pipes my husband installed, he said he did a good job, but he wanted to know where the purple pipe glue was. My husband looked confused and asked what he was talking about. His friend told him that when using plastic pipes, you had to clean the pipe with alcohol and then apply this purple stuff that smelled horrible, but helped the pipes to bond. It was a staple in every plumber’s bag. John reminded his friend he wasn’t a plumber, and he didn’t know this. He said there are such things as directions. Had he called him and asked for help with the plumbing repairs and replacement, he would have told him the necessity for the purple glue and other things that needed done. Now, they had to take all the pipes apart and use the proper materials to put them back together. John did an amazing job of putting the plumbing together, just not in how he joined them to keep them from leaking. He didn’t save as much money on leak repairs as he thought he had.
Important features of home security system
I invested into a home security system to protect my family, house and valuables.
Although the risk of a break-in or theft in my area is minimal, there is always a concern.
Taking precautions has helped to set my mind at ease. Because there are so many security systems and technologies available, it took me a while to choose the right one for my needs, budget and property. I came up with a list of features that were a priority to me. It was important to me that the system included top quality security cameras. I wanted to receive immediate notifications if any visitors approached the front door or entered any area of the property. The system I chose provides a virtual tripwire around the perimeter. If any person, animal or vehicle, the camera registers the motion, turns on lights in that zone and sends an alert to my phone. I chose to have indoor and outdoor cameras that feature night vision, in-app video feeds and two-way audio and video communication. I am able to watch for the delivery of packages, keep an eye on the property when we’re away on vacation and know exactly when the kids arrive home from school. It’s nice to be aware of what’s happening when I’m not home. I pay a subscription fee for 24/7 monitoring to cover emergency situations. Directly linked to local law enforcement and first responders, this service reacts to any security breach or natural disaster anywhere on the property. The security system allows remote access to the thermostat and includes flood, carbon monoxide and smoke detection.
Not happy with renter
About six months ago, I noticed that the back deck on a rental house that I own had rotted. I was worried about safety and liability. I am also determined to protect my investment. I would like the property to continue to be worth more as the years go by. Keeping up with repairs and necessary updates attracts better renters and allows me to collect a higher rent. When I discussed tearing out the old deck and building a new structure, I expected my tenant to be delighted. Instead, the tenant informed me that she and her husband like to sleep in on weekends. She was unhappy with me working on the project before noon. This significantly limited the time I was able to devote to deck removal and building each week. The first day I arrived to begin, her dog was loose and aggressive. I was worried about getting bit. When I finally called her to take care of her dog, I figured out that she was still sleeping. I frequently had issues with her four-year-old daughter wanting to spend time with me while I was tearing out rotten boards, running an electric saw and using a drill. I didn’t feel it was safe for the child to be near the work zone. Completing the decks was an awful experience. I spent a great deal of time and money on constructing a very sizable and sturdy outdoor structure. Never once has the tenant said thank you. I am now hoping that she and her husband move out. I am no longer willing to forgive late payment of the rent or the dog poop in the lawn.
Hair removal options
One of the main reasons I regularly visit the salon is for hair removal. I want smooth, hair free skin on my legs, under my arms and in the bikini area. The high-end salon offers numerous hair-removal methods. Looking for a painless and effective process, I’ve tried them all. There are pros and cons to each. I’ve seen hair-removal trends come and go. I trust the esthetician at the salon to look out for my best interests and only recommend safe methods. One of my least favorite methods is waxing. It removes the entire hair follicle from the root by applying heated wax to areas where there is unwanted hair. The benefit of waxing is that it’s quite long-lasting. It’s especially good for getting rid of short, stubborn hairs. After several wax treatments, the hair that grows back is softer, finer and more sparse. What I don’t like about waxing is that it is painful. Plus, it’s necessary to let the hair grow to a half-inch in length before scheduling the process, which is very unattractive. I prefer sugaring. It is an all-natural hair removal technique that uses a paste made from water, sugar and lemon juice. It’s applied to the skin and then removed by way of a flicking motion that pulls the hair out from the follicle. It gently exfoliates skin and avoids ingrown hairs. There is no hair breakage and it is quite long-lasting. The downside is that sugaring is time-consuming and the process sometimes irritates my skin. I can end up with ugly and rather painful red bumps.
Short term housing rental can be beneficial to digital nomads
My husband and I are thinking of becoming digital nomads.
Currently, we both work from home, which means we can work from anywhere in the world.
And while an exotic island sounds perfect, we are planning on starting our journey here in our own country, and perhaps when we get used to the lifestyle, we might consider other places. Becoming a digital nomad is no easy feat as there are certain decisions that we need to make. One of the main ones is what to do with our home. We will be traveling for most of the year, so our house will be empty. My husband doesn’t want to sell the house and would prefer to keep it as a short term housing rental property with a month to month lease option. He believes that this option would be best because if we ever decided to return home, we would have a place to come back to. I don’t mind using our home for short term housing rental because at least we would be able to cover some of the mortgage, which means we could save money while we are traveling. Neither of us have ever managed any rental property before, so this would be a new venture for us. I have gotten advice regarding renting furnished hoses from a family friend who recommended a short term housing website that they have used in the past. I have already done some research and I am comfortable in what I found. So, I believe that we will be placing our house for rent soon. And hopefully, when we do plan on returning home, the flexible leasing option would be able to work out well for us.
My Aunt Loves Modular Shipping Container Homes as a Retirement Option
I have an aunt who loves the idea of getting a modular shipping container for her retirement.
She believes that modular shipping container homes are an amazing option for people who are single end or people who cannot afford a big site-built house.
In addition, I believe shipping container homes are a good option because they are not so huge that they are burdensome to heat and cool as well as maintain and keep clean. There was a time when I was considering selling my house and buying an RV for my retirement. Since I live in a Southern state where there are lots of hurricanes, the idea of just hitting the road when a hurricane is on its way it’s kind of appealing. However, I think I decided against that as I just don’t think I could live in that small of space. I do feel, however, that modular shipping container homes are just the right size for me. I am single, as I have been divorced for nearly 20 years now, and I can’t see myself ever getting married again. For the most part, it will be just me and probably a dog in my retirement years. Shipping container homes, especially modular shipping container homes, can be quite beneficial for people who do not want the responsibility involved in owning a big old house anymore. Modular shipping container homes can be much more cost-effective then a traditional home as well. Not only that, you can take modular shipping containers and put them in different configurations to fit your lifestyle and your space. In addition, modular shipping container homes are relatively quick to construct. If your needs or wants should change at any time, modular shipping container homes also can be Modified relatively easily, cost-effectively, and quickly. I think my aunt might be onto something.
Growing business requires professional cleaning
When I initially started my own business, there was no budget to hire anyone.
I handled every aspect of the operation myself. I took care of soliciting clients and marketing as well as the billing, record keeping and upkeep on my small storefront. I covered every single hour of operation. As my business and profit margins increased, I added a couple of employees. I was still scrubbing the bathroom, wiping down shelves, washing windows, vacuuming and sweeping the walkways. I was always exhausted. Anytime I had a bit of free time, I was devoting it to non-stop maintenance and not doing a very good job. I finally realized that I needed to hire a professional cleaning company to help me out. The first impression of my shop is important. When customers step inside, I want them to feel comfortable. I hope they spend time browsing. I certainly don’t want them to notice stains on the counter or smudges on the windows. The cleaning company makes sure that my brand is positively represented. Every surface is perfectly clean. The air smells fresh. The bathrooms are spotless and never short on soap, toilet paper or hand towels. It’s such a relief for me. Scheduling a cleaning company has freed up my time to concentrate on expanding my business. Plus, their level of expertise and batter equipment and products has extended the lifespan of my floors and furniture. The cleaning company is really great about scheduling during off-hours. They show up after I lock up the doors on Friday night. When I arrive on Saturday morning, the whole place looks fantastic.
