I was underground all day working on the city gas lines

At the end of the day, I went home and drank a whole six pack of beer

All of the gas lines for the city are underground. In order to access the gas lines, you have to go down a manhole into the depths of the sewer system. My first time working on the city gas lines was last week. I am still training as a plumbing contractor. I have two more months of training before I will be done. The training period has been very informative. I’ve learned a lot of tricks and tools of the trade. The boss shows me how to do it right and then how to do it quickly. I was working with a guy named Jack last week when we ended up underground working on the city gas lines. We had to replace several gas lines. It was hot, damp, and very uncomfortable underground. Every time the subway came through the area, dirt and dust from the walls shifted. I was worried that the tunnels would collapse at any time. I honestly don’t think that I will spend very much time with the company if they put me on the crew that works on the city gas lines. I have a pretty healthy fear of enclosed spaces and I was on severe alert that day that I was working on the gas lines. At the end of the day, I went home and drank a whole six pack of beer. I felt like I had been inside of a grave all day. My nerves were a wreck and I nearly had a panic attack just explaining the situation to my wife.

The sewer drain was clogged up with grease and fat

Some of the worst sewer lines are in restaurants.

Most of those places empty their grease down the sink and in the dishwasher. All of that grease and sludge goes somewhere. Sometimes parts of the grease and sludge remain in the pipe. As more grace and sludge comes through, the contents build up over time. Sometimes the contents can completely block the sewer pipe causing a backup. I went to a chicken and fish restaurant down the corner from the commercial plumbing business. I was there for lunch when the manager called the store to request services. I knew something was up in the restaurant, because there was quite a commotion and stir going on. Everyone was talking in whispers and the manager was walking around with a strange look on his face. My boss called me on the phone to see where I was at. I told him I was finishing up with lunch and he told me about the commercial plumbing job. I told my boss that I was actually at the restaurant. I figured something was going on with the plumbing comment because there was a huge sign on the bathroom that said closed. I finished my chicken and fries and then I asked that manager what was going on and how I could help. The sewer line was clogged up with grease and fat. All of the grease and fat needed to be removed in order for the sewer drain to run freely.

I contacted a couple of different plumbing contractors so I could get an estimate on some work that I wanted done in my home.

I wanted to make the master bathroom bigger by getting rid of a wall and adding a garden tub.

I knew the remodel was going to take several days to complete. I planned to stay in a hotel while the construction crew was completing the project. I consulted with three separate plumbing contractors. The first plumbing contractor was a young guy that was new to the business. He gave me a basic estimate for the work that I requested. The next contractor was a bit of a salesman. He really tried to sell me the most expensive products including a waterfall shower, radiant heated flooring, and a tankless water heater. I told the guy that I wasn’t interested in all of those upgrades and he became disinterested in the rest of our conversation. The final plumbing contractor that I chose was actually someone recommended to me by a person in my office. The guy was coming with great reviews, but I didn’t know anything about him and he didn’t have a website or online reviews. The young guy was very kind and pleasant. He had a lot of great ideas for the master bathroom. Some of the upgrades were expensive, but he wasn’t trying to sell me a million dollar project. All of the ideas were fresh and interesting. It was because of his vision that I ultimately chose the third contractor to help me complete my vision and residential plumbing remodel.

My wife and I own a house out in the country.

I have a 30-minute drive to work, but I don’t mind taking the extra time.

I like living in the woods where my closest neighbor is 2 mi away. My wife and I have a huge backyard where the kids can run and play like we did when we were young. They love to make forts with the trees and sticks and we have deer and bears that come into the backyard during the winter season. We have even seen a couple of bobcats. I put up a trail cam about a half mile from the house. It’s still on our property, but I think it’s far enough away that I can catch some really good shots of wildlife. I caught two bears on the trail camera yesterday, and they looked like they were playing at the playground. They were jumping and wrestling around. It was one of the cutest things that I have ever seen. They had to be four or five hundred pounds each. No doubt they will start getting hungry before they hibernate. The temperatures are definitely starting to get colder and that means it is time to have a checkup completed on the gas furnace. We had some issues with the gas furnace last year. We had to contact a company that specializes in gasoline repairs. There was a problem with the gas line from the house to the furnace. It took the crew almost 3 hours to find the gas line problem and repair the issue.

You wouldn’t believe two shipping containers could look that good.

I got a plot of land in a very desirable area. There is a main road and other major businesses around. The land was the right size to house a restaurant with a good parking lot. The problem was the lack of a building on the land. I got the space for a deal due to no property. I immediately started talking to builders and realized I didn’t have the money for an actual restaurant. It would have cost me a foruten to have a crew make a business for me. Instead I went with a shipping container business. They made me my restaurant out of two shipping containers. Inside it looks like a real restaurant. I have a counter, cash register and a fully stocked kitchen in the back. I was able to design the grills, stove tops, fryers, sinks and freezers where I wanted them and what size. I also was able to plan for indoor seating, window placement, bathroom location, etc. I did the whole layout online and worked with a design consultant for the portable facility company. I ended up with a large space. Outside it looks like a giant white box since I had it painted. It might be not the most visually pleasing space at first, but walking inside it is a whole new world. You wouldn’t believe two shipping containers could look that good. It was also a quarter of the cost to do portable solutions rather than an actual building. I stand by my decision. I think I will leave my restaurant as is.
