Surely, the old thermostat can be repaired

It was funny when there was an issue with the thermostat recently, everybody asked me to fix it.

They said that I could handle the problem simply because I fixed the printer in the house, and we all shared the printer and we all paid for ink.

This just seemed to be a good way to save money. The only thing I fixed was the paper-jam that happened a couple of times. They all acted like I was some kind of repair expert or in this case, an Heating and Air Conditioning expert. They thought I would have no issue fixing a broken thermostat. I really had no idea what was wrong with it and I told everybody it was probably just old. I told everybody if we wanted our Heating and Air Conditioning to start working again, we would have to buy a new thermostat, however so we all went to the store and looked at the different thermostats, and one roommate recommended going for the smart thermostat that was on sale. It was almost the same price as a proper programmable thermostat, so we opted for the smart one. It really wasn’t hard to install the thermostat after watching an upgrade video! After that, everybody was saying I should be a Heating and Air Conditioning professional. I just laughed and said that would require special training to work on advanced heating and cooling systems. The smart thermostat worked well and it was awesome because we all got the app on our phone to adjust the temperature control settings remotely! The best news was that the thermostat made our energy costs go down a nice amount, which we didn’t even expect.

I thought I could fix the old thermostat

We all shared the printer and we all paid for ink. This just seemed like a great way to save money. The only thing I fixed was the paper-jam that happened a couple of times. They all acted like I was some kind of computer expert or in this case, an Heating and A/C expert. They thought I would have no issue fixing a broken thermostat, I truthfully had no system what was wrong with it and I told everybody it was entirely just old. I told everybody if we wanted our Heating and A/C to start working again, we would have to buy a new thermostat, so we all went to the store and looked at the different thermostats, however one roommate suggested going for the smart thermostat that was on sale. The smart thermostat worked great and it was awesome because we all got the app on our phone to adjust the temperature control settings remotely! The best news was that the thermostat made our utility bills go down a good amount, which we didn’t even expect.

Propane boiler

The ductwork was in need of repairs

I was worried recently when I went to check the boiler system! I was already planning to call the local Heating and A/C supplier for a proper tune-up, but for some reason I wanted to check things out personally first.

I was stunned when I observed a crack in the air duct that came from the boiler and linked to the chimney.

In my mind, that meant that there was a carbon monoxide leak! I not only called the Heating and A/C supplier and arranged for a boiler tune-up, I also ran to the store to get some duct sealant. I got some fiberglass tape as well to see about sealing the ducts extra well, making sure there were no leaks. I also picked up a carbon monoxide detector to install in the basement since there was no detector down there, then when I set up the carbon monoxide detector, there were no beeps indicating a carbon monoxide leak, but I realized that was because the boiler wasn’t turned on! I didn’t want to have any carbon monoxide at all, so I just sealed the ducts really well and let the duct sealant set, soon after that, the Heating and A/C professional arrived. He saw how I sealed the air duct and said I did a good job. He said there were no signs of a leak and when we fired up the boiler, there was no leaking then either. He did a good job handling the tune-up, had all the inner components cleaned out and observed there were no problems with the heat exchanger, but the emergency shut off works nice and there are no problems, so I’m ready to go for the Winter!

While the kids visited Santa, I spoke to a heat and AC worker

I have to admit, I haven’t been to a mall in a long time, so I guess you could say I’ve become spoiled by shopping online.

I like finding the best deals online, which are always better deals than anything I can find at the mall.

My wife had a strong case though because she said the children needed to go see Santa Claus. I was thinking next it was going to be the Easter Bunny, although I guessed that wasn’t such a bad thing. It would be fun for the kids, and they usually have all kinds of nice decorations and music at the mall, so I guessed it wouldn’t be so bad, and when we made the choice to go to the mall, I right away noticed how crowded the parking lot was. That meant the mall was jam packed with people. I was hoping that the temperature control settings would be nice, but with so much body heat, I imagined it was going to be roasting inside the building. Surprisingly, the temperature control settings were on point. When the kids were in line to see Santa, I was talking with another parent there. I told him how impressive the commercial Heating and Air Conditioning was in this location and they didn’t have bad temperature control settings, and he said they entirely had high velocity Heating and Air Conditioning systems installed throughout the mall. He said they were installed a few years ago. He knew because he was a part of the crew who tested the replacement. He entirely thanked me for complimenting his professional work, and he was a big advocate for high velocity Heating and Air Conditioning systems. He told me about the impressive energy savings and the remarkable speed with heating or cooling a space.
