I had always dreamed of having a fall wedding. I wanted the backdrop of my pictures to be with the red, yellow, and gold leaves. I thought it would be beautiful to stand amongst the fallen leaves and have leaves fluttering around us as we took our vows. Of course, it would probably be chilly, so although I wanted an open verandah for the start of the reception, I also wanted an indoor venue for the meal and dancing. My biggest concern wasn’t the temperature, but the possibility of rain or snow showers. It was raining the morning of our wedding, and it resigned me to being inside the entire time. I called the venue and headed over to get the decorating completed. It was cold inside, and I wondered if I had to flip a switch to get the HVAC system running. There was an instruction card on the bar that told me what to do, but nothing happened. I called my brother and asked if he could help out. When he got there, he said it was the furnace and not the switch, and he had to repair the furnace. He was the best man, and I didn’t want him to be late for the wedding, but I didn’t want to have a wedding in a venue that was colder inside than outside. He promised me he would have the furnace running before it was time for the wedding, and sent me home. I have never been so glad to have a brother who is an HVAC technician, as I was at that moment. My wedding was perfect thanks to my brother, the HVAC tech.

I have met the wives of several HVAC technicians in my father’s HVAC company. They seem to have their own little club that goes from having gripe sessions to adoration of their husbands. Many of those women have their own careers, but they seem to love that their husbands are expert HVAC technicians and the important role they play in the community. I used to think they were a soppy group who didn’t know if they liked their husbands or hated them. When they weren’t extolling their virtues, they were complaining their men were never home. Some thought they loved their jobs more than they loved their family. Others said they spent too much time away and they should have married a farmer, or someone else who was home all the time. Then, ten seconds later, they are saying how proud they are of their husbands. It wasn’t until five years later, when I married an HVAC technician, that I understood what they were talking about. HVAC technicians, whether men or women, had an important job in the communities and in the world. Without an HVAC technician, older people could expire because of lack of heating and/or air conditioning. They worked long hours and always seemed to work, but they loved their job. I’m not sure if I would want it any other way because I love him just the way he is, but I wish he was home a little more often. Now that I’m pregnant, I want him home all the time, but that doesn’t happen. He says my mood swings would be enough to keep him away, but it’s winter and people need their heat.

I grew up with a mother who was an HVAC technician.

• She had to have been an excellent HVAC technician because she was in high demand.

I didn’t think there was anything odd about her buying an established HVAC company and becoming the owner. I thought nothing odd about most of her HVAC employees being women. She wanted to give women the chance to work in an environment where they felt empowered. What I didn’t like was that when I went to school to be an HVAC technician, my mother wouldn’t hire me. I thought it was because I was a man, but she said no. However, she wouldn’t give her reason for not wanting me in her HVAC company. Every night when I came home from school, she would ask me how my day went. We would talk about what I was having difficulties with and she would tell me how to deal with it. When I didn’t understand something about the HVAC system, she would explain it to me in terms that I understood. I loved having her as a mom, but I was still upset when she said she wouldn’t hire me. After I got my certification, the local HVAC company hired as an apprentice. I loved that someone took me on right out of HVAC school because it showed they had faith in my new abilities. After my first six months, mom told me that when my year was up at the HVAC company, she would love for me to work for her. I was happy she asked, but I had to decline.
Air conditioner service

My son just spent the last year going through HVAC technical school.

It took him three times to pass his certification exam, but pass he did, and he is now working with the local HVAC company.

Last week, I had to have my furnace serviced. I had no problem asking my son if he would do the servicing, but I watched him. There was something about an HVAC technician who has a difficult time passing his exams that has been wary of their abilities. It will probably take me a long time to even trust him to work on the HVAC system for anything other than a service and maintenance. I asked my wife if it was wrong of me if I didn’t ask our son to work on the furnace or air conditioning unit. She told me she was also hesitant, but eventually, we would need to trust him. If the local HVAC company hired him, he had to have some merit in his abilities as an HVAC technician; didn’t he? When my wife, his mother, faltered on her answer, I knew I had good reason to second guess my decision. Although we had him do the maintenance, I was going to watch his progress in the HVAC company before trusting him with any real repairs on the HVAC system. I’m hoping that some day he’ll prove to be an excellent HVAC technician. Until that time comes, I will use my regular HVAC company and HVAC technician. I don’t want to say no to my son, but unless he works for our HVAC company, he won’t be working on my HVAC equipment.

New HVAC technology

Last year, my furnace wasn’t working properly, and I wanted another one.

• I had been having a lot of problems with the furnace throughout the winter, and I was done with it.

I didn’t know if the HVAC technician didn’t know how to repair the furnace, or if it was the furnace itself, but I knew it was time to get a new furnace. Our furnace was over twenty years old, and we knew it was going to need replaced. I couldn’t afford to spend a lot of money on repairs when I would be replacing it shortly. I tried to explain this to the HVAC technician, but he wasn’t listening. He was more interested in making expensive repairs to keep the furnace running. I wasn’t sure how long the furnace would last, so I called the HVAC company to order a new furnace. Instead of coming in for me to put in an order, the HVAC technician was there thinking he was supposed to make repairs. I had to call the HVAC company and have them let him know he was to help me order the new furnace. He was still reluctant to help me put in the order and not allow him to inspect the furnace first, but I didn’t care. I knew what I wanted. I was the person who was going to pay the bills, and I was the one was going to decide on repairs or replacement. After talking to the HVAC company, the technician helped me put in the order and I was finally going to get the new furnace.

Air conditioning maintenance

When I had my new furnace installed, the HVAC technician asked if I wanted my central air conditioning unit installed.

I told him I didn’t want central air conditioning. I was quite happy with my window air conditioners. He looked at me like I was crazy and said that central air conditioning was more convenient and it gave better cooling. I wouldn’t argue with him, but I also wouldn’t allow him to talk me into buying central air conditioning. I liked my window air conditioning units. I didn’t have thermostats connected to a smart thermostat where I could turn the AC units off and on at will, but I didn’t have the AC units turned on unless someone was in the room. It took little time to cool a room and I couldn’t see wasting energy keeping it running all the time. All the window air conditioning units, but the one in the rooms we were using, were turned off. I told the HVAC technician that our home was always comfortable and it cost me less than $20 a month to cool the house. My sister had central air conditioning, her bill went up almost $100 a month during the summer hours. He tried to tell me that was an exception, but I had already tuned him out. All I wanted was to have the new furnace installed, and if he couldn’t do that for me, I was going to call another HVAC company who would give me a furnace without a central air conditioning unit. He changed his tactics and installed the new furnace.

My mother and father have always had central heating and air conditioning. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to not have central HVAC. When I moved in with my girlfriend, she only had window air conditioning units. I asked why anyone would choose to use window AC units and not have central air conditioning. She told me the house originally belonged to her grandparents, and there wasn’t central HVAC in the house. They had total electric heating and the window AC units were in excellent condition. She would not get rid of the electric heat just so she could have central air conditioning. I was a bit at odds about window AC units, but I wanted to be with her, so I would not complain too much. I wanted to do more than complain as I thought about how much energy was being wasted, but I didn’t. I figured she would figure it out eventually, and she paid the electric bill. After a couple of weeks, I wasn’t worried about the electric heating. The energy bill wasn’t nearly as high as I had thought it would be, and I was happy with how comfortable it was in the house. The house was older, and I was sure it didn’t have good insulation, but it surprised me at how warm it was, and how little it cost to run the electric heat. I figured I would learn more about window air conditioning when summer arrived, but until then, I was happy living where I was and the house was warm and comfortable.

I thought that aftermarket performance automobile parts would be more affordable, but still do the same job as original automobile parts, despite the fact that I was wrong; The automobile shop installed an aftermarket performance exhaust plan on our automobile that not only made more noise than the OEM, but it wasn’t as efficient as the OEM exhaust system, and i felt appreciate I wasted cash on the aftermarket exhaust system, and I could not return it.

I called the automobile shop and asked them if there was anything I could do to exchange the aftermarket exhaust plan for an OEM exhaust plan and they said no… All I could do was have it removed and they would install the original exhaust system, and I would still need to pay full price.

I was actually frustrated they hadn’t explained this previously, but there was little I could do. I told them to take off the aftermarket exhaust plan and update it. I know that several aftermarket performance automobile parts will work the same as the original automobile part. I also know that several times, the aftermarket performance automobile parts are less costly than the original; Next time I need new automobile parts, I’m going to need to do more research than just looking at the price! Had I done our research and looked for something other than price, I may have bought a odd aftermarket. I would have saved cash, but it ended up costing myself and others more. It was possibly 1 of the greatest and most costly mistakes of our life, and the life of our car.
