My mom and I have been planning a summer road trip for a long time. We debated for a long time on where we wanted to go, but finally settled on the mountains in the midWest. We split up the tasks of things we needed to do before we left. My side of the to-do list had the car maintenance items, such as an A/C tune up. I was really nervous about having to go to a mechanic for the A/C tune up because I have never done anything like that for myself. If I’m being completely honest, I didn’t even really know what an A/C tune up was. I decided to be up front about it and tell the technician that I was a novice. He was kind enough to explain to me that an A/C tune up is basically a checklist of things to refresh in the car’s air conditioning system. This usually includes checking and changing any air filters, inspecting electrical wiring, flushing drain tubes to prevent mold and mildew build up, and several other tasks as well. He told me that an A/C tune up should be done once a year for the average car, so I’m really glad that I went before the road trip. I later found that it had been almost two years since my mom’s last A/C tune up. I was proud of myself for being bold and brave, even if there was the potential that my novice knowledge would be taken advantage of. I’m really excited for the road trip now!

I’m definitely grateful that I have a great working air conditioner that helps make the longer trips bearable. I’m so grateful to have a company that will pay for things like that. The job that I had before this one only paid for the gas and left all of the maintenance expenses up to me. Since I am traveling to do the work for them, they should definitely be paying for my mode of transportation. This is especially true since I use my own vehicle for work.

I can play drums with my friends today or I can play volleyball with my sports friends.

I’m not sure yet what I want to do but I am leaning towards volleyball because I wouldn’t have to bring down that heavy drum. I have two drums and both of them are quite bulky and hard to carry. I know that is no excuse not to play drums but I am just weary from playing so much ball yet I find it tough to stop because I love it so much. I was just online reading a bit more about heating as winter will be coming soon and I want to know if there are any new portable units on the market which are really energy efficient. I want to try to live alone this winter but I need to cut down on my heating and cooling bills or I won’t be able to afford it. I know there are new heating units out there which are very energy efficient but I just don’t know which one to pick. I guess I need to check out the prices and see if the local business near me can compete with their prices. Anyway, I am going to finish doing that and then do my 15 minute yoga routine and flip a coin to decide for me what to do later. I could also do nothing at all outside and just stay home today and work on my HVAC system as it is in need of a good cleaning. I’ll get a coin and see what it tells me to do!

I will be hibernating this winter in front of my fireplace and letting my body heal from all of the pains of playing entirely too much beach ball with my friends.

This is why I am looking forward to colder days when nobody can play on the beach because of the temps and the early sunsets.

It is the end of August, the 28th to be exact, and the town today seems strangely quiet for a weekend. Normally on the first of September everyone starts to clear out, but it is a few days earlier than that and seems to be emptied out already. We did have a huge celebration a few days ago with a lot of fireworks so maybe people stayed for that and decided it was time to go back home. In any case, it’s kind of nice having the town back to the locals after such a packed summer season. The local businesses will keep running a few more weeks then some of them will close their doors for winter as it is just too slow to justify staying open. I need to get some quality AC service before summer ends because I used the AC a lot and it doesn’t cool as well as it used to. I guess I’ll have them check out the whole unit and make sure everything looks good on it. It will be hot out for another month at the most and then it will start to cool off really quickly. I’ll be running my central heating before I know it and decorating my flat for the holidays, which seem to come faster each year. Just enjoy the ride everyone because it is going by pretty darn fast. I enjoy my job working for the cooling and heating provider each week and am grateful to have such good friends there to work with in just a short amount of time.
