I’ll be done in a little bit with my writing for the day and am going to plop in my bed for an hour or two to rest my weary body.

I’ve been fighting this flu for three days now and I think I am starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I bet that within two more days this thing will just be a memory of the past, as I started taking some good herbs to help my body get rid of this thing. Spirulina is good for the flu, says my local contractor friend, so I started taking it this morning and will keep taking it till the thing is gone and I can get back to my HVAC tech work soon. I didn’t know about Spirulina being good for colds and flus but I guess it does something to inhibit the growth of the disease and helps the body get rid of it faster. I have to do a big ductwork repair and cleaning job next week and need to be totally well because the dust can really be bad if you are sick and messing around with it. I guess I could wear a mask, lord knows I have enough of them somewhere in this flat, and that should help keep the dust out of my nose so that I don’t get a relapse or something. I also have to clean my electric furnace at some point and clean the furnace filter as well so when next winter comes around it is ready to go.

I have my ex-girlfriend’s best friend coming to visit me for a few days from Finland as she is doing some dance competition near the town I live in and wants to pop in for a few days.

• We are just in the friend zone and I am not expecting anything as I have been focusing my energy on music and don’t have time for a relationship just yet.

I feel that I can dedicate more time and energy to my music if I don’t have a new relationship to work on and grow. Maybe I’m wrong, but my HVAC expert friend agrees with me and says that I am doing the right thing putting all my focus into my music career. I feel like there is something that can happen with music in the next few years and that I should focus on it now before time passes and the dream vanishes. Anyway, my gas heater is finally getting the rest it needs as summer is coming and the weather is heating up once again. The town is busier now than it was a few weeks ago and will get even busier next month when another wave of tourists come in. The local business is getting more work and they are happy when summer is here because that is when they bank the most money for the whole year. It will get really crowded here in July and August and then it will slow down again for the whole winter and turn into a ghost town again. The temps heating up definitely brings in the people.

I like where I live in this flat and hope to stay here a lot longer. I live about a two or three minute bike ride from the sea and am about a two minute walk to the grocery store. This town has about 30,000 people living here and it is just big enough to have energy and be a place where you could live the rest of your life without getting bored like some small town. This town has a lot of tourists who come visit for four months in the summer and it gives it a good feel. Local businesses do well in the summer and a lot of them, including the local contractor, close their doors at the end of summer and move to other cheaper countries to live and relax till the summer season rolls around again. It is May 11th now and it will be busy here until the start of September when all of the visitors head out and go back to their normal lives. The new contractor in town is going to have a deep discount on their a/c systems and filters in the store in hopes to drum up more business this summer season. I think they will do well because they have some great systems there and it looks like it is going to be a really hot summer season. I bet that they sell all of their mini split a/c systems because that is what people seem to like in this part of the country. Stay cool this summer okay.

I think in three more days I will be ready to rock again and we will play a few hours like we normally do

It is 1:30pm now and I am in the heart of my workday, probably finishing it all by the time the opening bell of the market rings in two more hours. I don’t live in the States anymore, like my brother who is way over in the Far East, and the market hours are a bit different over here as we are six hours ahead of my hometown. Wow, I just coughed and my sore throat really hurt badly from the cough, reminding me that I am still sick and need to rest more to get better. My HVAC specialist friend and bandmate wants to play today but I am feeling pretty rough and don’t think that I am going to be able to play. My voice is too weak and scratchy to sing and my energy is too low to drum, so I think I will just rest a couple more days before we hit the streets and do our thing again. The new contractor in town is happy when we play outside of his store because we draw a good crowd each time we perform there next to the big HVAC system in the front of the shop. I think in three more days I will be ready to rock again and we will play a few hours like we normally do. I am finally getting ready to box up my space heater for the summer because it takes up a lot of space and I want to move it up into the attic soon until next winter.

I haven’t exercised in three days now and I am feeling like an old fossil.

• I’ve had something for a few days that is making me not feel too well, so I am trying to rest my body and let it recover so I can get back to being me again.

I haven’t had a few days of rest like this in a long time and I think it is my body’s way of telling me I need to slow down a bit and take time to smell the roses. It is easy to keep pushing yourself, like an HVAC system that runs the whole summer without stopping once. You need to let the body rest enough so that it has the energy to ward off diseases like the one that I have right now. My oil furnace was running all the time last winter without me cleaning the furnace filter and the thing finally caved in and stopped working one day, telling me that I need to do more maintenance if I want to stay warm on those cold winter days. I push myself a lot and I need to start taking better care of my body by drinking less beer and eating less bad foods. I like to get a burger at the local business once a week, or sometimes even twice a week, and maybe I need to cut back on that and start eating more veggies like my heating tech friend does. She is really healthy and makes me feel guilty sometimes when I eat a burger, but at least I cut out all sugar from my diet a few years ago.

I’m plugging away today with my work and I am going to reward myself afterwards with a year long subscription to Spotify for our band’s music. We have 25 songs so far and I would like to get most of them on there for people to hear to see what kind of response we get from it. I feel that we have about six or seven really good songs that we could upload to the site, and maybe even more than that but I need to talk with my bandmate to see which songs he likes the most. The HVAC business often plays our music at the store when they are open for the cooling reps who are working there throughout the day. I just want to be good enough to tour around and do shows in our town and other towns and make people happy with our fun style of original music. We don’t do cover songs like the cooling rep was saying we should do because I like to make new music and not just copy someone else’s success. Our music is basically beach punk rock and we definitely have our own sound, and hopefully that sound is something that people like and want to hear more of. I will keep working for the local contractor while we fine tune our music and get to where we need to be, which will happen in a matter of time if we keep working hard on it and using our HVAC work money to fund the mission. No toil is left unrewarded.

I just found out nobody is on Spotify with our band name yet, so I think we may upload our music there and grab that spot before someone uses our name.

Bad endings is a pretty cool name for a band don’t you think? We named it that because most of our earlier songs had really bad endings as we couldn’t seem to get the timing down on when to finish the song.

Now we have fine tuned our endings a bit and they aren’t as rough as in the earlier songs. We can get on 150 music stations the HVAC contractor told me, all for the low price of $15 a year, which is pretty cheap for all the exposure you can get in the local businesses that play the songs. I was doing comedy up until a few years ago and one time this comedian was sitting in a chinese restaurant in Spain and saw me on a TV show, which was pretty wild considering that was the only show I ever did. Today I am going to clean the old HEPA filter, which is a washable type of HEPA filter, so that my guest will have clean air when she comes to visit me in a few days. I just need to get rid of this flu or whatever it is in my body so that I don’t get her sick too, that would be the worst getting someone sick who is coming to visit you. She is at a heating and cooling technology summit in another town now and will be here soon.

I am craving a grilled cheese sandwich, but with this flu that I have and the congestion in my lungs I don’t think it would be a good idea to have one just yet. I think I will suffer a couple more days without my favorite sandwich so I can get rid of this thing and be feeling better. Maybe I’ll have a grilled cheese marathon day and eat like five of them, but then again maybe that would be going a bit overboard and get me sick again. I can have some tomato juice I am sure, as the HEPA filter salesman told me it is good for the immune system. I was eating a grilled cheese sandwich almost every single day, which is probably a bit too much and maybe that is what got me sick in the first place. The local business sells this really good Havarti cheese, and if you haven’t had that cheese try it on a grilled cheese sandwich and I think you will agree that it tastes amazing. I use spelt bread, which is supposed to be healthier than white bread and it also tastes a lot better too. My ductless mini split is keeping me nice and cool today while I get my work done in my office on this balmy Wednesday afternoon. My friend is supposed to be visiting me in a couple of days if I am feeling better, so I am trying to really rest a lot and eat good foods so I am well when and if she arrives this coming Saturday.

It was extremely clean and devoid of any dust or debris. The next day when I was doing laundry, it only took half the time to dry all of the clothes.
