Wow, I can’t say just how wonderful this new heating and cooling unit is.

My friend Sam and I are getting the highest quality heating and air that we’ve ever appreciated with this new residential Heating plus A/C. And that’s really saying something, given how wonderful the seasoned Heating plus A/C unit was. Sam and I had that thing installed when my buddies and I moved in and made sure that it got all the heating and cooling maintenance that it was supposed to get. There was the heating maintenance done by a seasoned Heating plus A/C professional each Fall that helped keep our heating costs low. And in the Springtime, the Heating plus A/C specialist came back out to get the heater ready for the Summer with an a/c tune up. For more than twenty two years, the central a/c in our apartment never waivered for a second. Any time Sam and I needed heating and cooling comfort, that Heating plus A/C unit would respond. But once the utility costs began to spike, Sam and I knew it was time to upgrade the Heating plus A/C equipment. When my son Sam woke me up in the middle of the night from a particularly sound sleep, the first thing that I noticed was that I could see my breath. I knew right then that my mistake had come back to bite me. The old gas furnace wasn’t running and it was one of the coldest days of the year. My partner and I both sleep with a wonderful large feather comforter over us so we didn’t legitimately notice. I burrow down into that bed and let the comforter lock in the heat. And this was a poor mistake. I legitimately don’t know what I was thinking really. I think it’s because I did the same thing last winter and also the winter before. Since the pandemic started, I’ve been finding any way I can to get the most out of our finances. But going without the heating maintenance was clearly a mistake. Still, I thought that since I had been consistent for a decade, I’d be able to squeak by without this Heating plus A/C repair for a while. I put my son in the hottest spot next to my partner and went downstairs to see if I could restart the gas heater. This year, that just didn’t work well for me. I’ve belonged to this gym for almost five years. That’s when I moved here from the city. I live in a small neighborhood now in an apartment with central a/c after residing my whole life in apartments in a very large city. It’s a large change however I sure do enjoy being a homeowner. They added nothing to the value of the annual membership. And this was after a promise that the commercial Heating plus A/C would be replaced or upgraded. The a/c here is far better even if there are a limited number of machines. I just go there to do some resistance training. It’s simple to simply not spend all that much attention on all the stuff that is particularly taking care of me in my everyday life. And that needs to stop. Too often, I’m just counting on the heating and cooling unit to consistently work or the car to consistently start. But I don’t think I am holding up my end of the bargain as much as I need to. So this Springtime, I’ve recommitted to being sure that I’m taking care of the things that are taking care of me. The cars all got tune ups and oil fluctuations. I’m on a strict monthly schedule now with the grass. Actually, doing the grass is something that’s good for the apartment and wonderful for me as well. I get a work out and then I enjoy coming inside to drink some chilly iced Sprite and soak up some cooling comfort from the heat pump. And when it comes to the heating and cooling equipment, I’ve had to step up my game there as well. No more can I forget to change the air filters for the Heating plus A/C equipment. I’ve been quite inconsistent when it comes to the air filter. But that’s changing this Springtime as well. I’ve got a system now where I get reminders to replace that air filter. And I went to the local apartment improvement store to buy a full case of air filters so that’s not an excuse either. When it comes to doing the Heating plus A/C maintenance on the residential Heating plus A/C, I have that covered as well. I contacted the Heating plus A/C contractor we’ve used since my buddies and I moved here to sign up for the Heating plus A/C repair plan. This now takes setting the Heating plus A/C maintenance appointments off of me. The Heating plus A/C contractor now handles all of that so I don’t have to remember.

There is an old saying that goes, “Out of sight, out of mind” and that couldn’t be more than true for me.

Personally, if something isn’t directly in my face, I tend to forget about it. This is why I depend so much on my PC for reminders. Frankly, I am not at all sure how I could function without my PC and phone. I set anniversary and bday reminders, healthcare expert’s appointments, family events, suppers as well as all my random maintenance tasks. For instance, I consistently forgot to change the Heating plus A/C air filter because it was never something that was very high on my priority list. I am happy that I am no longer driving to and from work. Also I have been saving so much money! That is especially accurate, since I am no longer buying gas twice per week. I used to drive an hour to work and back and every week I would need to fill up the tank two times. It’s such a blessing to be able to save all that money especially because the price of gas has skyrocketed over the last year or so. Aside from saving money on gas, there is less wear and tear on my car. This means that the lifespan of the car will be extended, the miles will be a lot lower than expected, and I will also save a lot of money on oil change and maintenance. Prior to working from home, I used to get the oil changed twice per year and now I am only getting it once. Typically, I schedule my oil changes around the same time that I schedule the Heating plus A/C maintenance for my condo. It might sound odd because my car has nothing to do with my Heating plus A/C unit, however I always do it this way so that I don’t forget to do either of them. So, if you’re like me and you own an older apartment with older appliances, it’s so wonderful to have the extra coverage. Therefore, if the refrigerator, clothes washer and dryer, dishwasher or Heating plus A/C unit breaks down, then the apartment warranty could potentially cover the cost of replacing the appliances. And given that the Heating plus A/C unit is one of the costliest items inside the home, it’s just a wise idea to have a warranty that would upgrade it if needed. I live in a downtown apartment unit that is sandwiched between 2 other townhouses.

And though all the people might prefer to have an end unit, I like being in the middle because it makes me feel safer and more protected, however for instance, if a storm hits, my apartment will be more protected than the apartments on the ends.

Also, I am less exposed to the traffic on the street… Living in between 2 houses can also have its negative aspects. For one, if the neighbors were noisy that could become annoying. Thankfully, I have legit quiet neighbors on both sides. They are so quiet that the only noise I hear is the Heating plus A/C units when I am in the yard. The neighbors’ Heating plus A/C units turn on more than my unit does. And they are never in sync because as one cycles off the other will turn on, and my temperature control is set at 72 degrees which is the recommendation of the Department of Energy. It seems obvious to me that my neighbors have their temperature controls set at lower temperatures. If I am chilling in the yard for a half hour, their Heating plus A/C units cycle on and off at least twice in that span of time. Mine will turn on once if at all. I use my Heating plus A/C conservatively because it conserves energy as well as saves me more money on my utility bill. After all, the Heating plus A/C unit is the highest consumption of power in most homes, but based on the information that I gained from my utility corporation, my Heating plus A/C use is responsible for 50% of my consumption, and so, it just makes sense for me to run the Heating plus A/C less. If only my neighbors knew to do the same, they would save money on their utility bills as well.
